so last night i pulled into the petrol stationto fill up half way threw the copper came out the shop and said that my car was illegal on the road because the front number plate was too small (well ok officer) my rear number plate was illegal i dint quite get why because its a standard bumper with a standard number plate the he told me that the only reason ive got an exhaust like that is because i want too be very loud so my exaust is now illegal what he dint point out that i have a front indicator missing (an mot failure) so he said next time he sees me if i have not change the exhaust and numberplates he will give me a 60 quid fine

i donty know about anyone else but im getting realy anoied with it cos we appreciate our cars and work hard for them unlike the chavs that like to sit at mcds we the 106 and saxos with big cherry bombs on the back

Man that sucks. Fortunately enough I've never been stopped. But if I am and they have a go about my exhaust I'll put it to them simply. The car is an import and came with that exhaust and I can't source a standard exhaust. So basically, tell them to fuck off. See what they say to that. lol.

this happened to me the other day. i told him that he can db reader on the exhaust and he can check the digit size on the reg plate against his on his car and he did.

he looked like a fool after when it was exactly the same size as the digits on his plate and because the car roars on boost but is silent on idle (kakimoto) so the db was well below the legal limit.

he was not looking happy when i got off and the car started to roar again!

they got nothing better to do these days and im sure they get kpi targets for stuff like this.

i always get pulled by police up in the witham/coggeshall/colchester area, but never where i live in southend.

i think the copper was trying to be high and mighty fella, and wanted to make himself look hard.

if that was me i would have challenged him, and made him feel small.

its this kinda policing that gives cops a bad name.

I've never had any problems with the fuzz, nor been pulled over in the GT. Even when I stoped at the petrol station with about 4 squad cars filling up they said nothing to me but my exhaurst is pretty silent when on idle.

Cops are a bunch of as* ho**. I have heard a lot of stories from friend that live in the city and aren't careful about what they do with their driving habits and where they speed up or make their engines roar. On my side, I always feel like there is one looking at me, so I am very careful, and never got caught for anything (In 6 years of driving). Maybe I was also very lucky... For sure, I'm not from UK, maybe your police is a lot more severe (or stupid) on modified vehicules...

oh i have a massive problem with the police, not so long ago they was the high speed cop cars in front of me (scooby, bmw) they was about 5 cars in front, they stoped the traffic made everyone overtake untill i got 2 them then they pulled me over boxed me in!!!! and interigated me and my girlfriend for like half an hour!!!! didnt find 1 fault with the car, nore with my insurence or myself or my girlfriend,so they very recutantly sent me on my way, i asked them why i was pulled over and they said just for a routine check! yeah yeah..then 1 week later i got pulled over again so i asked why i have been pulled over, they said just for a routine check, so i repield ''its not very routine is it as i got pulled over last week,i got boxed in, and i was treated like scum'' he then said well thats unluckly for you then. 'i then replied '' not unlucky the only reason you have pulled me over is because i have a modified car isnt it?'' he then pretended to go on his radio and was moving his mouth but not talking, he then leaned back over to the passenger door and said we gotta go we got an emergency!!!!! lol i coulnt belive it!! how full of shit!! he just didnt want to deal with me complaining to him, i just couldnt belive he pretended to go on his radio to get away lol

thats some of my exprence with the pooolice

sorry if my spelling is out im at work to early and cant be assed lol

eh?

is there a legal limit on spoilers to?

I think spoilers aren't allowed to protrude further than the width of the car. Say if you had a Skyline R34, that has a width of 1785mm, (or is that cm? Maths has never been my strong point :(), then the spoiler isn't supposed to exceed that. Something to do with pedestrian injury or something, i think.

remember my bro getting pulled over in his Pulsar and the officer said "i hope your insurance know about that spoiler"....

my bro told him is was a standard spoiler and after some BS about stopping him because his car sticks out we were let on our way!

i only got pulled over in the GT twice, once because i was driving through town late and fair enough they just wanted to check it was me driving, which i don't mind in the slightest because if it was someone else driving my GT and they didn't i'd wish they did.

second time was when i was waiting on a level crossing and the panda car was the other side, he reversed back into a turning making other cars move out his way, barrier went up and as i went past he pulled out behind me and pulled me over, when i got out the first question was 'do you know your plates are illigal' to which my reply was it's an imported vehicle and as such allowed to be that way to fit in the recess....after a few mins scilene he said i obviously know what i was on about and let me on my way!! lol

Your UK police seems to raise terror, but do not do anything if you argue with them: Big Mouths, little acting?

Police are idiots. Stopping young motorists with modded cars for ''routine checks'' when they should be out catching rapists, murderers etc...

some are arseholes but remember who you ring when your car gets stolen. What if your car was stolen and the person who stole it was filling up with petrol... the copper asks him things about the car and he gets all twitchy and nervous and they do a registration check and it comes up stolen..... I dont think anyone would have a problem with them then??

just that ive been stopped many times and had very heated arguements with them but sometimes ive been pulled in gotten asked a couple of basic questions and then been told to drive safely.

Ever wonder why sometimes they ask you what seem to be very stupid questions? "Is this your car" "where are you coming from" "where are you going to" because that can catch some people off guard and they hesitate.... they are sussing the person out.

most convictions traffic related are based on what comes out of your mouth when you get pulled.

especially speed related, they usually dont have the evidence to prove you was speeding but when asked "do you know what speed you was going?" or "do you know why i pulled you over?" most ppl tell on themselves its quite funny really.

PS: I once was pulled for speeding in rush hour traffic on a motorway when the cars were going about 3 mph.... I ended up asking the copper if he was bliond and pointed to the cars that were now not even moving. He then went to walk off and I called him back and told him I was not finished with him and I wanted his details as I was reporting him for wasting my time and being aggressive and ignorant towards me....

dont get me wrong.. I have had my run ins too... but they are not all the same

I own a GT turbo for nearly 2 weeks. I have been stopped twice. I wasnt acting the dick, just dropping my friend home.
There is a strech of road that is renowned for street racing and messing. Any way I was just about to cross the road and a squad car just stops in front of me! I shit myself thinkin what have i done!! He asks me the usual bulshit and tells me to go back the way i came!!! What a dick!

2nd time was last nite where I broke half my reg plate and was driving around but thats my own fault! Thankfully i just got a warnin and a lecture! lol!

I think starlets just have a bad name! When the Guards see a young fella in them they just stop us for a "routine check"!!

POW, haha, yeah tell him to proof it, instead of him tryin' to mess with you, you test him in a formal way, don't give no attitude, jus' be smart know your rights.

i hate cops!
i have been drivin for around 3 years now and since i started drivin i have never really had any problem with them till i got the glanza.

First off..
Since i got it i have been searched under a "terrorist" act and a drug search, which i found out of a new cop that it is an excuse to search the veichle and the person for no reason apart from sayin its a routine check.

Secondly.
When i got the car onli the top rear side lights were working and i noticed there should be 4 on the back. so i fixed this and i get stopped a feew weeks later for havin one of the lights out still had 3 left.... and i got a 30 quid fine!!! and if he said if i had a problem i was gettin took to court.

Thirdly....
heading to a cruise was drivin along the carrageway with a few mates and some of them sped up a touch so i sat there cause we were nearly there. and jus as im about to turn into the place i get stoped by the old faithful again, trying to say that i was doing "in access" of the speed limit. and gave me a producer to show my licence, tax, ins, mot.and tax book!!!!
when i went to the station the cop in there said why the **** have you been asked for everything. so then a few days later i get a note through the door askin could i ring the cop back that stopped me. so i did and he said he needs to speak to me about failure to produce my tax book n i said well if ya look at the forms it saiys i did. and he goes give me your number and ill get back to you when i check the paperwork. he never did!!

fourth...
cop tried to do me for undertaking at speed. was drivin up the road in busy traffic, cops had pulled someone in up ahead so i indicated to change lane but as usuall no fu***r would let me in so i was jus about moving ffs.and he had a ryt go at me fo NOTHING!!!!

Fifth

first night was out in the car. was drivin around in the countryside. was foggy had the fogs on obv, came down a road which ended up being a main road n lit up n all. clean forgot to switch them off. pigs were pulling out of a petrol station up the road a bit. went past them and they stayed there, thought happy days not gettin pulled over for once. next thing they wrre behind me with the lights on, guy came up to me and said do you know why i stopped you?? so i said no, he aid ur driving with u fog lights on. i explaind why n he was sound, checked everything then came back and said your not insured, i aid i am i onli bought the car today and he said ryt well im going to give you a fixed fine!! wat a toss.r

:flame::flame::flame::flame:

sorry all for ranting on a bit i just hate the cops,
why they waste honest peoples time instead of catchin the wee joyriding hoods
