Oil pump change

Any I've removed I've just pryed from behind with two pry bars. This has a mixed set of results. Sometimes you get unlucky and it's stuck on there, in this case I've had to hammer or heat the bloody thing to get it off. I've check the manual later to see how Toyota reckoned it should be removed. Possibly a special tool or something like a puller.

ive always found they come off fairly easily. just a couple of small prybars behind it and it should get moving without too much force.

After checking the workshop manual it appears all you need are two screwdrivers..

If only it were that easy - I've managed to kill oil pumps with brute force removal attempts. I'd advise a gallon of WD40, plenty of careful prying and if that doesn't work some localised heating.

I had one once that just would NOT budge!
Took out the crank and sent it in to engineering shop.
They struggled and gave me a big invoice :0
