For sale: ZEP RACING 4POT big brake kit.

Item Condition: New and unused

Price and price conditions: £400 + paypal fees.

Extra Info: Here i have my Zep racing 4pot brake kit that i brought a few weeks ago from Toby, i was going to fit them to my car but have since brought me a house and need some money for various appliances etc.
This kit consists of a pair of Nissan skyline R32 4pot callipers with new seals and dust boots and have also been professionally machined to fit under most 15" wheels, they have been painted in Very high temp metallic black and look awsome. The callipers are fitted with brand new Sard type-c race pads about £160 worth!! The discs are grooved with 6 grooves, they have very slight surface rust from storage but i will make sure this is all gone before they sell. This is the more expensive grooved disc kit that sells for £696.00 on RHDjapan.com and thats without the callipers and pads which are an extra £230!!! So all in all this kit is over £900 worth! The kit comes with everything needed to fit from what i know of incluing the disc spacers and calliper brackets.
Heres what RHDjapan have to say about the kit:
Brand New 4-Pot Front Caliper Swap Kit by the Starlet Specialists, ZEP Racing, out of Osaka Japan.
The kit will allow you to upgrade to larger 4-pot calipers from the HCR32 Skyline! Included in the kit is as follows: Caliper Brackets Spacers (will offset rims by +15mm) Rotors (slit-type) Hub Bolts Bracket Bolts Caliper Spacer Spacer Bolts Please keep in mind that you will need pads and calipers to go with the set.
The kit will also come with a litre of Toyota dot 5.1 brake fluid but not the rear sard pads that are pictured.

It was supposed to be £400 edited. I got them for £375+ 4% paypal. Ive fitted new dust boots and seals and had callipers machined to suit 15" wheels and painted them.

Amazing value for that price mate. Its a full plug and play kit that will save lots of hassle.

Wish these were about before I started sourcing my levin twin pots as they amounted to just as much after a refurb etc.

I would not have hesitated. You havent mentioned the diamter of the discs.

All the best with the sale.

If I was still keeping my Starlet and was going to plan with everything I had in mind these would no longer be for sale! But alas, I need to get rid of everything and raise funds for a new central heating system for the house.. and its getting colder and colder and I need to start selling!!

Good luck with the sale mate!! Someone will get an absolute bargain!

Perfectly know the feeling mate!! Its either house or cars.. and unfortuntely the house wins hands down on this as its an asset that should appreciate in price in the future, where as cars will always depreciate.. unless its a mint classic car..

Always the case mate! Been there! But that is a serious bargain price for anyone serious about upgrading!!

Once again best of luck as someone will be very happy with sorted front brakes! Could probably make the car do an endo with that sort of stopping power!

But one quick word is that people with ABS in their cars should disable it once this has been installed, as the ABS system won't understand the inputs and effectively could reduce the braking potential by releasing the caliper when there isn't a need to, ideal for non ABS cars, but even ABS cars can use this with it disabled. I've got an article somewhere that told me how ABS works and the short falls compared to just using your feet.. Anyway I won't Hi-jack this thread anymore..

Its to do with the ABS programming.. engineers spend millions developing the algorythms for it, and basically if you increase on the rotor size and pressure the pistons are being pushed the ABS will think OMG pressing too hard I'm going to lock up, so releases it, but when in fact you are nowhere near locking up and need that braking performance.. hence why a stock ABS system won't know what to do, but this is a very simple way of describing it though, as the actual article was quite long and went into detail with example calculations and senarios of what happens.. I don't even think I manage to descibe it very well but a little taster anyway..

Sorry to hi-jack again but I thought any info is good info to help the sale as the end result will be worth it! And anyway true proper race cars don't have ABS and there is a reason why they don't :)

does anyone know the dimensions of the rotor with this kit and what car it would have come off ? Looking to make a kit for the glanza now as I have completely maxed out what slotted rotors and pads can do for it :p
