Default Thought I should say hello

Hi Folks.. Been subscribed to this site for a short while now and thought I should introduce myself as I'm finding lots of useful info here...

I have an ep82 JDM starlet that I bought and turned into an autotest car... Am making changes to it after pretty much every event as I find out what makes it go quicker... Here are a few photos of the work I have done to it in the first few weeks...

Some of you may be wondering what autotesting is and I think this video might give you some idea of what’s involved..

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Autotes...-Aug_175390.htm

And here is the car being driven by someone who knows what he's doing...

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Autotes...cket_171439.htm

Here are some photos of the modifcations which took 3 weeks... Most of which involved weight saving.. It now stands at 620kgs but there is scope to reduce it by another 30 to 40 kgs..

Here's what it looked like when I got it.. Minus a few bits I had already removed..

And here's during the work...

And here's the end result... When I get a chance I'll get some pics of the interior after all the work...

Welcome to the site mate, it's great to see an EP in competition.

RyanV showed me a mobile phone vid of someone autotesting an EP82 last month up Carrick direction. It looked great fun.

Hope you find the site of help in finetuning that machine of yours,

Jay

Thanks.. Its all about maximum acceleration in first & reverse gears and good handling.. With a 100 bhp N/A engine its OK but more power is needed, thus the intake & exhaust mods which have made the engine a lot more responsive.. Was really surprised just how much difference the motorbike exhaust made.. Feels like a different engine.. Very quick to rev and responds to the throttle a lot more sweetly..
I'll keep developing the car.. The car is screaming out for a torsen diff...
