Your opinions,please.

What are the major benefits?

Any experience with these, before and after effects?

Thanks.

Can't see the benefits being anything more then minimal, really i've yet to be convinced by their effectiveness.

Keep the heat in, prolong the life of the turbo and gain bhp is along the lines of how I understand they work.

hot or cold

i'd imagine they may help keep your engine bay temps down but only minimally.. since there are lots of other hot bits in the bay anyway.. :)

i'd advise against it.. since it may overheat the turbo if running hard for extended periods.. i'd like to think if i'm in constant motion (like on the freeway), the turbo is sufficiently cooled as the vehicle travels forward.. :D

It will keep the heat from the turbine housing away from the compressor housing which can help to maintain a consistant intake temp when using the car for competition. Would also work on a road going car especially when driving the car hard with hot weather.

Is it going to cook the oil after a session of hard driving?

Heat build up in the turbine side may crack the housing?

Some claim that it may lower lag? If yes,i wonder by how much.

as above, i think when you stop even if you let it on the turbo timer, it still will keep a lot of heat in and will cook the oil.
