I was told that you can't swap cam lobes without having them machined to match.

Apparently it causes masses of strain on the bottom end.

Funnily enough, now that I think of it. I damaged the cam journal on my Starlet engine. And low and behold. 2k miles later then engine went bang...I wonder. Seems a little far fetch to me. But that's what I was told.

Right so back on track, I had a look at the original engine and found that 15 years sat idle isn't the best idea..

Got a few sticking valves:

Which is no real worry as the fresh engine is taking shape:

Toyota Belfast came through with two fresh rear calipers. Really chuffed with these as I've never seen a set brand spanking, thought I'd take way too many pics to rub it in:

Will have to look at getting a decent rocker cover sorted soon, the current one is badly gummed up with dried oil after sitting for so long.

Nope. Hasn't been fluid in those lines for years. o_O

Will have to sort a fresh set of fronts before getting at the system properly.

Hopefully so, didn't think it was worth messing around with used units. Had my fair share of fun with that before!

Still a lot to bolt in but that's the heavy lifting out of the way. Need to sort a CT9 before I can even think of turning the key. Might tackle the brake system next as it's totally the wrong thing to do at this point.
