4efe or 4afe box + 4efte in a Corolla E11?

Regular 95RON unleaded shouldn't cause too much hassle on a stock 4EFTE in the short term. Over time it may lead to carbon deposits and add to gummed up piston rings but that's a whole other debate.

If the fuel quality is even lower (some places are 89RON for example) you would be actively trying to avoid knock (google engine knock and detonation). Cooling the mixture is a good way of doing this so a front mount intercooler is worth the extra expense. The extra midrange power is worth the extra expense on it's own too so pretty much a no-brainer.

As for buying replacement parts try to stick to genuine Toyota. The non-genuine stuff is possibly half the price but can last a quarter of the distance. Buying cheap using means buying thrice. This is especially true when it comes to gaskets and seals.

Unfortunately I haven’t found Toyota OEM replacement parts on eBay. Local Toyota dealer probably doesn’t even have the Starlet Japanese parts as that car never been distributed in Italy. Shipment from the United States cost a fortune. I will see what I can find on the Internet. If you have some advice for OEM parts please let me know.

Fairly sure if you need something someone on here can get you sorted. I keep a small stock of stuff to keep local owners rolling if you get really stuck.

Always a good idea to check the part numbers with your local Toyota dealer first though. The 4EFTE was never sold in the UK and we can get stuff over the counter so long as it's not discontinued. Usually beats the online prices as there's no middle man.

Oh and just when you mention the United States, that would be the last place I'd be shopping for 4EFTE. They are a relative unknown engine there and the scene tax would be crazy.

Japan is where you should set your sights

Sure but I just want to get the parts you told me about and have a good time with the car for at least 100,000 km. Could you give me some links of the OEM parts I can buy for a reasonable price?

I know but unfortunately I am in Italy and here they do not support much because they don’t have passion for that car and swap. This is why I’m here talking every day to try to get the best out of it and make a great car I can show off.

Your local Toyota dealer could maybe get you the parts ?
That’s what I hope because it would be insanely expensive to import them. I’ll call him Thursday and see what they say. So far I went on tuning developments website to get their prices for my list. They should have high-quality products.

The ignition system will probably need a new distributor cap and roter arm due to age, you can check it when you get the engine. Spark plug leads also break down over time, if you test them end to end with a multimeter they should read around the 25 ohms :)

Tuning developments, idworks and fensport are all good sources but they are in the UK.

If you work out what you want I can advise further.
I’m going to have to do my best to find parts in England because there is nothing in Italy. I’ll still talk to my Toyota dealer and see what he can get so I will buy the most important parts from them and use oh OEN parts as a back up.

Do take brexit in mind, if you order after december import taxes will be added etc.

New World order will not stop me doing the swap.
Parts are impossible to find and they’re all in the UK. Otherwise I’ll have to buy straight from Japan. Italian dealers will not order for me and they will charge more than British import taxes.

All that's fairly simple stuff.

Could probably get it all in the one box if it was packed right.

I'm guessing the head bolts and headgasket are emergency items?

Hey guys what’s the difference between these two types of exhausts? There were two 4efte engine models?

What’s the difference between these models? The Glanza V ep91 I don’t know if the model am buying has AC pr not. What I know is that my Corolla has AC so I should probably buy the belt set with the air conditioning compressor for the 4efte engine I’m swapping and it will fit on my air conditioning pump I will dit on the engine?

The belt goes round the bottom engine pulley, the aircon compressor and the power steering pump.

When the engine lands you should have a 4EFTE aircon compressor on it. This will let you use the stock belt so long as you retain the standard power steering pump position. If the position or pulley on either change then it'll be custom belt time. Not a huge concern tbh.

I don't know if your current compressor can be swapped across but would hope so - they are both 4E blocks after all. If you can take a picture of your current compressor I can show a 4EFTE version for comparison.

You can always delete the aircon if you see it as unrequired. The weight of the unit is quite considerable.
