Startermotor replacement 4efte facelift glanza

Well after having my car sit for a month the startmotor doesn't seem to do the job anymore. After making some weird jackhammer noises and a push start it doesn't do a thing anymore.

Checked the startermotor, currently have a 28100-11140 and by the looks of it a 28100-11130 also fits. Any other starters that would fit?

Cheers,

Brian

Take it you tried the tappy hammer method in case the solenoid is stuck just bud
Also, hows your battery, if it's been sat a while with alarm on it would take a wee bit outa it, happened on the GT lying in the mates for "a while" fslol

Battery still has full charge at 12.5v also tried a second one. Didn't tap the solenoid yet, seemed to still work fine.
Most of the time just a clean up is all they need and they are good as new. Worth a try as it costs you nothing ;)
I'll try to remove it this weekend and clean it up and see how long it will last. Maybe even go the route of refurbing it.

Mc hammer job lolz.
Have you tried

Works out £98.99 after exchange
That's pretty affordable if the current one can't be fixed. I'm sure they go for about the same rate in the Netherlands.

Getting it refurbished is another option depending on cost obviously, usual cost over here is between 20-40 pounds and its normally the solenoid that's away

As Skiny mentioned, looks like the solenoid might have been stuck. Another reason would be a chunk of graphite jamming the gears.

Most of the starter is still in great condition, maybe the graphite brushes are a bit worn no Idea what the tolerance is.

I'll be ordering a set of 4 from Toyota since they are pretty cheap at less than 2 euro's each.

That is a very good price for them, these most likely got a 400% Toyota tax on them o_O
