Can a 5 door EP82 (4EFE) swap to 4efte? Can the chassis and frame hold the extra power?

Hi,

I've bought a 1995 4 door stock Ep82 with 4EFE engine. I want to fully convert it into an EP82 GT Turbo (with 4 doors). Already bought most of the body parts as well as the dash including GT axles and braking systems. However, I'm more concerned whether the chassis can hold such power? As it was designed for a non turbo much low horsepower engine initially.

Please excuse my ignorance, as this is my first car.

P.s : The reason I did not bought a GT turbo instead is that where I'm from, there's only a couple of GT Turbo. They are very rare!

Than you very much!

You fire ahead bud.

The chassis is basically the same.

The rear doors would only create aesthetic issues with the three door bodykit and interior panels being different but with some modification its possible to get that GT look.

I'm interested to see what way you go about doing the side panels on the kit to suit the 4 door, again seen it done loads but still no idea how it's done.

Theres a big following of 5 doors in Indonesia, might be worth a browse
Thank you so much man.
Was very hesitant to go all in.

Now I'm going for it :D

I've heard the same thing for the side skirts, It will fit just fine with some modifications from someone who knows what he is doing lol.

Thanks for the link as well. Cheers!

Yeah I've got a pretty good Auto body mechanic in hand. He confirmed that he can modify the side skirts.
I'll post some pictures when I'm getting it done.

Thank you very much.

If anything the 5 door shell will have more bracing around the B-pillars than the 3 door and should be slightly stronger as a result. Definitely heavier over all.
