Glanza v not boosting

Hoping please someone can help me!
I bought a glanza v, it won’t boost at all
All pipes are perfect, changed the actuator.. still no boost at all
Boost lights on the dash don’t light up at all, but if you press low boost it lights up
Anyone have any ideas?

High chance of a dead Turbo, with the information provided, or at the very least a massive boost leak? we really need more info..
easiest way to confirm a dead turbo, is excessive Oil inside any intercooler piping, that and wear and tear on the turbine wheel, ie side to side play etc

Welcome to TGTT

Did it just happen suddenly, gradually or did you buy the car like this?

As above, it could be a number of things but first up have a gander round the intercooler pipes and vacuum lines in case it's just a loose connection.

Fingers crossed!

Hi
The turbo has no play and doesn’t seem to have excessive oil, the car isn’t Smokey either.I only bought the car so I’m not sure if maybe there could be vacuum pipes connected to the wrong place?

Hi
I bought the car like this, we checked all the pipes and there is no play in the turbo.
I’m wondering maybe is there vacuum pipes put on in the wrong place (the last owner had the engine all pulled apart, wires broke and vacuum pipes off) would there be any sensors etc that the turbo system wouldn’t work if not connected? I know some cars won’t boost if the car is cold and the coolant temp sensor is broke. But I’ve heard these cars wouldn’t be that advanced to not boost when cold. I feel like it’s a simple fix but just can’t figure it out

for a stock starlet, the easiest diagnostic to confirm vacuum piping is not the cause, atleast for the turbo and wastegate, is to add some more vac hose from A the output from the turbo reference, to B the input to the wastegate, and see what happens

the second easiest, is to check the map sensor, and any vac line running from it, this can be found on the right hand side most likely near the fuel filter

the third easiest thing you can do is take some good photos of your engine bay, turbo area or intake manifold, and any area related you think looks different, and show us here

a starlet will try its hardest, cold engine or not, even if you disconnected pretty much everything, it would still boost as it is a physical reaction and the cars are very electronically primitive, treat this as case by case basis, as i have no idea how modified that car is

the thing that will instantly prevent it from boosting is if the pipes have a massive leak, something like, a blow off valve being stuck open might explain it,

the Wastegate on the turbo Can become stuck open, preventing 100% of boost, please check that it actuates appropriately
( this has happened to me recently )

or that the intercooler / actual piping are not damaged,

Can only really agree with what Rush says there.

They generally don't give too much hassle when standard so anything aftermarket could be a factor.

i generally have to agree with the above advice:
- check for intercooler/silicone leaks and that the rubber/silicone connections and clamps are tightly secured
- check that the turbo actuator is connected and the actuator arm is freely moving (not stuck/sticking)
- do you have a boost gauge? Are you getting any reading?
- check map sensor connection
- check BOV
- have you done a diagnostic test? any codes?
