Gi or soleil ecu information

Hello I'm looking for some info on the gi or soleil ecu and looms. I have the pink gi injectors and the gi ecu but when fitted to a 98 irish starlet she wount fire. Are these ecus immobilised or am I missing something else? Any help greatly appreciated

Hey Bob, the JDM ECU might be looking for different sensors than the original one.

The UK spec models have a different throttle body setup from (faded) memory possibly?

Thanks for the reply . Ya I'm finding it hard to get any info on it atal. Ignition is the same. I no the intake is the same as a turbo one so maybe try to find one and throw it on see how it goes??

Pin outs of both ECUs would be a good starting point. They are possibly on this site but finding them could be fun.

Do you have the chassis numbers of both cars?

Don't have chassis number for the gi anymore it's long gone.. Have a 98 irish spec car here to compare off and try anything that I can find like an intake or anything..

Any idea what the year of the GI was?

The parts catalogue might show differences in what sensors came on both cars which would give an idea of what ECU is looking for.

Pink injectors, I came across a set yesterday from a st182 celica. Can't mind the cc something tells me 280 ?

Pink injectors are from a gi starlet in this case lad. I know you can get different colours in all the different models also...

The Gi ecu needs one pin (I think) moving over one from what I remember but I dont remember which one it was. But I could find out if you wanted

I managed to get it running on one of my 98 SR's but it idled mega high and the engine sounds like a bag of spanners because of the higher redline (needs 4efte valve springs) but I gave up trying to find all the correct sensors to go with the ecu, pink injectors and 4efte throttle body

None of the jap ecu's came with immobilisers that I'm aware of

I have them all here I was lucky enough to find 2 gi engines recently it's just the looms and ecu I'm stuck on...

No worries there then! I remember I made a list of electrical things that were different. I will see if I can find it. I know the map sensor, TPS and O2 sensor, had a different part numbers, which could either make no difference, or could be suited to the Gi ecu by outputting different signals/values than 98 spec sensors. But I'm not sure as it was at this point I gave up and got a Emanage Ultimate

I can try my best to help you with wiring for the ecu once I find my Gi ecu
