I've read on the old TGTT that it does fit but will not be as strong as the 4EFTE one?

Edit

Jay beat me to it!!

the gear boxes are different by ratios but not by the housing. you can put an n/a box on a gt or glanza and they will fit. reliability is another topic and something i know little of mate.

i think ill go recondition, have this feeling know its the clutch thats the problem, things only start making noise a few weeks after clutch went in,and there in no problem changing gears,so will have to see when gearbox comes off

well people have put the 6 speed out of the corrolla in so can't see why n/a wouldn't cope!!
the 6 speed box isnt great for boost,i know a lad who has one in a glanza, car is fairly standard bar exhaust and fmic, and 3rd gear is on the way out.
so dnt go g6 anyway.
i have a standard box on my car at the min til i get the diff box on,havnt done too many miles with it,abt 800kms,but i wudnt advise it with bigger boost, could bust.
get another gt one,not hard to find.

i think you'll find a n/a box has far to short gears. Will make good accelaration but driving it will be a pain in the ass.

i read on the old forum that with harsh driving the n/a box would die a horrible death.

as jay said would do in an emergency.

The n/a gearboxes uses smaller internals and I've found them not to be too strong. In the EP91 the gearing is different, but the final drive, for some strange reason is the same as the Turbo. The EP91 Turbo has a shorter 3rd and 4th gear than the EP82 GT.

i've been driving with my G6 6 speed gearbox for 1 year now. That's on about 160 Bhp at the fly and no problems what sowever

Hi. This means that the non-turbo gearbox from the 4EFE it is a strong as the 4efte ep91? I drove the turbo engine with the Corolla 4efe gearbox for 15k Kms and all hood. The issues it has come from its long mileage. We are talking about 250,000 km. I need to replace it now and I wanted to keep the gear ratio that to me is perfect. The only problem is to understand if it is the best choice. I would add The KAAZ lsd diff. What do you think? @Jay

Gt a normal corolla 4 forward box in mines and it pulls like a boss peel tyres first second and third
