Ah, TD05! Looks alright mate. The Greddy downpipes are known for being shite and restrictive but upgrades are available. Make sure the manifold has relief cuts or they can crack and I'd be interested to see what management it has. Could be a good base for higher power though.
I'm not suprised it only lasted that long then, that figure is awful for that boost. The worst I've heard. You need to remember that the 1.6 engine was designed for a turbo and take to it very well if you set it up properly. On the 1.8 engine the highest I know is 323bhp on standard internals...
It hasn't moved in a long time, had a custom made manifold for it, new custom exhaust, big brake kit front and rear, and lots of other things fitted. Got a track day in it next week.
If you insure it as anything other than a Toyota Starlet GT Turbo, regardless of what it says on the websites or your V5 document, then you ate breaking the law and effectively have no insurance. If you can't afford the insurance then you can't afford the car.
