Thanks for the input guys. I was thinking as my current springs are close to 30 years old it would be wise to replace them. However when looking in the Toyota data base the 4efe springs have the same part number as the 4efte springs. I was always led to believe the turbo springs for stiffer ?

Hey guys, Just a quick one. What are your thoughts on using uprated valve springs if you plan to leave the stock rev limit in place ? I’m building a forged 5e and don’t plan on revving past the stock limit. Thanks

Nice cars man. I daily drive a TDI VAG and have the GT for weekends. Can't beat the VAGs for comfort and reliability without breaking the bank imo. I came rally close to getting a MK5 ED30 a few years back, but I did way too many miles hence the reason I went for a TDI. Is the MK7 manual or DSG?

Thanks for the info guys. I have read a few people that have done it without tapping the bolts with no issues. But others said it leaked. I have asked the machine shop to drill and tap the studs so fingers crossed it should be cool.

Does anyone know what size studs are needed to fit 4efte oil filter housing to a 5e block? Thanks

Can yours not be rebuilt? There’s a guy in the fb group that is selling a refurbed set of all 4 calliper's. He maybe welling to split the fronts and rears.

I’ve genuinely always wanted to know what the hype was about these cams. 2 UK starlet tuners in particular swear by them, however as said about are they worth the money for the minimal gains?

As said above you may get away with a cheap fix or it could turn into an expensive build. It’s always a gamble as you never know the extent of the damage until you strip the engine down. Give me a shout if you get it and need a crank. I have a fresh one spare in my garage.

That’s what I was thinking. I’ll be using the complete 4efte head for my build as it’s still fresh but the block is surplus to requirements really. Either way, will be worth holding onto though as you said :)
