    Clutch Line Replacement

There isn't much point replacing the hard lines if they Rent damaged or rusty etc. you can replace the Flexi with braided as it will last longer than an already 30 year old rubber hose, but you won't feel any different from it. It's not like a brake system where it comes to a stop when the pads...

    Ebay uprated alternator

I bought a starter motor for my rx8 from that seller. Decent quality stuff. Rebuilding an alternator is cheap though. Starlet alternators are simple to do. Parts cost about £30 all in and then it is as good as new :)

Oil pump replacement tips? Best sealant?

I've never had any issues with bog standard rtv sealant. Just make sure you apply it on clean, oil free surface and don't put too much on. Let it cure 24 hours and you should grand A little tip (which most rtv sealant packaging suggest anyway) is to nip up hand tight, leave for about an hour...

    Rear foot brake poor?

Thanks. Well I am going to try new lines to begin with as they are the original rubber ones, so they really could do with swapping out anyway. If that doesn't work, then I will get a new valve. Looks like a pig to access though :(

    Rear foot brake poor?

I assume these are a throw away item and can't be rebuilt? Any idea whether you can get new from anywhere? I thought they were pretty bullet proof???

    Rear foot brake poor?

I was going to give them a re-bleed just in case. Although the brake pedal does feel good.

    Rear foot brake poor?

I finally got round to rebuilding my rear calipers after years of scaping by with a poor handbrake. Handbrake is now good, but on the MOT brake test the foot brake action on the rear is poor. Any ideas on what this could be? Brakes are balanced and the fronts are decent, it's just the rears...

    Forged Engine Build

I'm the other way. I trust no one as I'm never impressed with what I get. I am glad I didn't let the place that did my machining work out the engine together, put it that way.....

    Forged Engine Build

Has the block been machined for those pistons specifically? If so and you trust their work, then you should be fine. You should check your rings gaps, but chances are they have gone in the bigger size of the tolerance anyway. If you are using the graded Toyota engine bearings then probably...

    Forged Engine Build

It's not too hard if you are methodical and keep things clean as you go. Measure things to make sure tolerances are within spec. If you have the manual that will help with most bits, but clearances etc on forged stuff will be different. Oil clearances too can be down to the experience of the...

GT Gearbox jumping out of 5th gear

Most likely a gearbox issue which would require a strip and rebuild. Worth checking the engine mount is ok first though as could be an easier cheaper fix that way.

Blown Turbo / Oem Vac Lines

Vac lines look fine to me. Looks like the stock bov has just been pulled out to make it atmospheric. Someone has obviously done stuff on the cheap. Not sure why it is hitting 1bar unless there is a hole in the actuator vac lines or has an adjustable actuator perhaps? May be worth checking to...

    brake rebuild kits

Just refurbed the set I took off the car. These were in worse condition than I thought :( Managed to get them to an ok standard and used the aftermarket rebuild kit. I would say it's not quite as good as genuine. Probably 95% there though. Based on the price and the fact that most calipers now...

    brake rebuild kits

https://japserviceparts.co.uk Wasn't hard to find, was like the third link down on a Google search! I've used parts from them before and they have been almost OEM quality imo. Turned up today and looks decent. Has exactly the same parts as the genuine kit. Will fit them to the calipers I...

    brake rebuild kits

I rebuilt my first rear calipers yesterday. Once you work out how it all comes apart, it's not a bad job. I rebuilt them with a genuine seal kit and everything fits a dream. I have found an aftermarket kit for half the price, so will see what they are like in comparison ;)

    Wanted- rear caliper bleed nipple

Thanks jay. I quite like the extra length, but can't find new ones anywhere :( May have to suck it up and get replacement normal length ones instead if no one has one kicking about.
