    no, was just winding it in, went to nip it up and it suddenly went slack!! done it loads of times before, but must of picked up on a thread and fucked it. well pissed off. i only had the sump to re-seal and it would of been running again.

    just fitting the cams back in the gt tonight and managed to strip a thread on a cam cap. manged to pull out a nice springy bit of alloy. now, can this be helicoiled or is this head (and maybe the car.....:mad: ) fit for scrap?

    mines up on stands at the moment. just in to look for cam removal sequence, should know it off by heart by now, but just making sure. il grab a pic when i go out again. just re-torquing the head bolts, and removing the sump as i had a bad leak, then try get a few more miles on it ready for a map...

    not sure, my mate looked it up in the book and set to what the book said for alignment. (he is the full time mechanic) as for camber its as much camber as i can get. i think il try less camber due to having added camber due to the ALK. still have to get it back on the tracking to have a play...

    this rack is ok, the first 1 was f*cked, felt like a square drive in the pinion. track rods are about 4000mile old if that, i keep blowing it up, so hasnt seen many road miles. i went with the alignment stated in the book.

    ball joints and track rods are about a year old. and i got a rack and column from a base model 91. its great for cornering, but just un-nerving when lifting off. everything is tight aswell. gonna be going out tonight in it, so il get better feedback

    forged 5e oil pressure

    i ended up putting in 2x 1mm (ish) washers, robbed them off my parts washer.....only things i could find that would fit, lol. bloody thrust bearing had stopped the job (orc 309 i have dont work with standard thrust bearing) what sort of pressure should i be aiming for?

    just in the middle of building my forged 5e, all is going fine, but worryed about oil pressure relief valve. do i shim it up with a small washer now? or do i put it together and see how it goes? i will have a gauge to keep an eye on pressure, but what sort of pressure am i looking for on first...

    haha, thats ok. yeah, a nice long pair do the job nicely. nothing too clumsy tho, cos its tight (lyk a tiger....lol) just to add, done use too much grease in the assembly, when putting the handbrake pin in,i used too much and it kept pushing back out, cos the air wasnt escaping, and the pin...

    this is the line up of the order the parts should be. took me ages to get the order right. there are 2 seals under the plunger, they are the seals that are fitted to the plunger sorry, bit 3 and 4 are wrong way round

    on the towel we have, the new piston with the female thread inside it, then we have a spring retainer, look at 1 o clock and 7 o clock, there is little tabs sticking out, they clip into the "dog bone". i found if you put the little plunger in, then the tiny spring, then fit the male threaded bit...
