Did you get this running in the end?

    Abandoned ep82

I'd do the basics like change the oil and filter, check the plug and replace if required, clean the distributor cap and rotor, drain and change the fuel for fresh stuff, dump the coolant and renew. Once its going it would be good to give the brakes a once over incl new fluid and maybe even a...

    EP82 GT Base Map - ME221

Sweet! Let me know how you get on - bit of a shame you have to mod the triggering to make it work.

    EP82 GT Base Map - ME221

Can you manually transfer the data across page at a time if you had your tune and the other base tune open in two windows? Bit of a pain in the ass but could be a work around if you can't get the answer you need?

Anyone running the AEM EMS-4 on their 4efte/5efte with the stock ignition?

Im away at the moment and don't have my laptop to look at the software, but I did see a trigger scope so best bet is to start the scope up and crank the engine over and you should see the wave form produced.

Anyone running the AEM EMS-4 on their 4efte/5efte with the stock ignition?

I haven't used their software but I'm downloading it now so will have a look. Can you attach your base tune to here for me to look at? Is it a new ecu or come from a running car? EDIT: Ive loaded the software, have to used the scope to check your getting trigger signals?

Anyone running the AEM EMS-4 on their 4efte/5efte with the stock ignition?

Alot of ECU's struggle with the factory reluctor triggers due to the low voltage they put out - this is why if you look at an rpm vs time plot the data line is never a nice straight line and does dither a fair bit. I've got examples somewhere. Most ecus can filter and smooth these out but some...

    4efte swap in EP71 difficulties

Complete wiring swap isn't so easy with a EP71 as there are quite a few body wiring differences - doable for sure, but my personal preference is to make the engine loom plug and play into the factory fuse box and dash integration. I've done the conversion quite a number of times for myself and...

    Twin pump fuel supply

No worries! To be honest I think a decent aftermarket ecu will help solve a lot of the things you talk about. I'm pretty sure the currently offered Walbro pumps are pretty good! I had quite a few experiences of them failing or poor flow rates vs advertised but that was years ago. I tend to use...

    Twin pump fuel supply

Yes both pumps have a check valve on their outlets before the Y block. The lift pump from the factory tank is a high flow low volume unit and in those setups was just set as on/off.

    Twin pump fuel supply

I've setup multi pumps on a few customers cars over the years, but mainly using a surge tank supply rather than multiple pumps into the stock tank. I've controlled the pumps via SSR's and PWM so the pump speed can be controlled which helps keep the fuel temps down and prolong pump life...

Megasquirt timing and idle valve setup

Haha yeah thats probably why. I honestly never bother as the throttle body idle up does everything anyway. Its only if the throttle body has been changed that I setup an aftermarket solenoid. If you wanted to, you could try adapting a 20v 4age solenoid on, they work reasonably well with PWM...

Megasquirt timing and idle valve setup

The stock aircon/idle up air solenoids are simple switched on/off devices - they tend to melt down if you run them PWM from my experience. The main idle up is water temp based anyway so you don't really need it unless you want to cover alternator or aircon load. Ive not bothered on any of my...

Ct12 as an upgrade of the CT9

They're not really an upgrade in my experience if you are referring to the EP71 CT12? Years ago when I was building hybrid ct9s for customers the best combo I found as using a CT9 from a Previa van as the front cover of the turbo was larger so had more meat to spin out on the lathe to...

    70mm throttle body TPS adaptor

Aftermarket throttle bodies usually are setup to use Honda/Nissan style TPS units rather than Toyota ones - what ecu are you using?

    Base map for stock 4e?

Personally I use and recommend Link ecu's, and most of my customer builds use them. Ive tuned all sorts of engines with them and they just work with so little drama, yet have all the capability in the world if you need it, especially the latest release which has 1000hz logging and user defined...

    Base map for stock 4e?

Yeah MS systems don't seem to like Toyota reluctor triggering very much, its a known issue. I believe there is a separate VR add onboard that can be used to rectify this, but don't quote me on it, I stopped using MS years ago.

I just compared to the last MS tune I had which was quite a while ago admittedly. Here's some screen shots.
