yeah...it does to some degree but i have a 5e, so the pick up isn't too bad.....its my compromise for gearbox longevity. i see you're playing some russian roulette with your gearbox :) ...use quality gear oil and keep it fresh, hopefully that will help extend its life

to get a 5e...you could investigate buying a whole donor car if it can be obtained cheaply---paseo, cynos, sera, tercel ...its just the engine you want, so the shell could be in a miserable state, making it cheap to buy it may be cheaper than just purchasing a 5e engine via ebay, import from...
