as always, so helpful! So, the general consensus is to get the fuel pressure regulator and bigger fuel pump? Are these jobs for a newbie to modifying, or would you say that i'd have to get a garage to do it?

Thanks for the responses I'm trying to read every last bit of information I can on these cars I'm spending all my free time on here and UKSC just reading up general stuff about them to familiarise myself with any issues that might arise, but I'm just quite wary about chucking £3k+ on a car and...

I've read on here and UKSC that these engines as standard are good for up to 220bhp or so, yet people that are saying they've turned up their boost are also complaining of break downs. Are the valve seals on these really weak then? Or is it just a case that it NEEDS a new un restricted...

Ahhh right, fair enough. Even if you was calling me anal, that wouldn't matter lol :D Well as I said in my previous post, I don't want to make the same mistake buying a car again. With the 206 that I've still got, I decided I didn't want it after buying it, and the Corsa CDTI that I've got now...

He only let it 'warm up' whilst we were talking about the car, looking round the car and showing me under the bonnet. So it's not like we sat there in silence for 5 minutes :P But yes, maybe I am being a bit anal, but I just don't want to make another mistake buy :(
