Where have you been going? Local engineers in a industrial estate would skim heads for about 30 quid surely a manifold would be less?

Jesus thats dear.. But then again setting it up would take the time, not as easy as a head.
I thought you could have done this at your work Dunc?

Agree but then it would never be square after being on a belt sander.
I was reffering to doing it properly on a mil ;)

I could do, but our mill is a bit shit. We only have one size collet and the biggest cutter you can fit is about 1.5 inches. Due to the mill being so slack it will end up shit if you have to do more than 1 pass. I tried an engineering firm I have used before who do engines and a small engineering company we use at work.

As mentioned, its the setting up that takes the time, not the actual machining!

Probably giving you a mad price because they cant do it. If they dont have a sine table for the grinder it would be a cunt to hold it when they're giving it a lick another problem would be if both faces are off it wont be flat on the sine table if its a magnetic one might move a bit which wont be good lol. Done a few manis at work.

should of been clearer on my first post, i brought my mani to be machined on a mill and they used a belt sander and fucked it up..

I got my manifold skimmed at work but had to make up a frame so that it could be bolted to the table. Took long enough to make it but then it was skimmed in no time.

Weld a box section frame onto the flange and around the pipes so it can be gripped easily, then grind of the welds when you are done and remove it.

My mate managed to do it on his mill at home in the end so it cost me fuck all. Just waiting on a new gasket to arrive and I can stick it back on!
