15" tyres

there both the same width, its just the profile which will make it different,

its basically the height of the tyre, so a 45 will be a smaller looking tyre if you understand, if your car is lowered then the 45's you will be able to drop the car down a bit more, but if its not then just get the same size you already have on the car

205/50 is a large overal diameter though, fine on a 195 but 205 means the side wall will be very tall, great for drag crap for road. A 195/50 is a different story, hell I run a 185/55/14 on the run around which is find but a 205/50 is pretty big...

A 205/45/15 has roughly the same overal circumference as a 185/55/14.

If you chose a 205/45/15 the overal circumfrance is 69.94", if you choose a 185/55/14 (stock size) the overal circumfrance is 69.15", if you choose a 205/50 the overall will be 72.48" so quite a lot bigger.

To explain what I meant about a 205/50 being very tall here is an example for you, a 205/50/15 has an overal curcumfrance of 72.48" as explained above. A 215/40/17 (yes that's 17inch!!) has an overal circumfrance of 72.69", only a fraction over the 205/50/15 as you can see!!

i do know what you mean toby as my dad sells tyres to etc and they are quiet a lanky kinda tyre unfortunately, but i was thinking more of the looks as cars which dont fill the arch look rather silly i feel lol

On a 6.5J wheel? If so 195 is fine. See where your coming from with the looks Adam, you could always consider a 195/50/15. You won't be able to get a 205/40/15 in a conventiaonl tire either. For a 15inch if you want to fill the arches a little then 195/50 will be fine if you want better performance with less sidewall flext then a 195/45 will be a good choice.
