3 bar MR2 Map sensor?

Hi there, my friends glanza often comes up with engine management each time it points to MAP sensor, he managed to find a 3 bar one from an MR2 Turbo Rev3, basically once it was plugged in it made the car seem REALLY laggy, but then all of a sudden it pulls like an absolute train!

I was just wondering (as is my mate) if it is a compatible part and why it would cause such results?

Cheers!

If it's a stock ecu it will not be programmed to read the signal from a 3 bar map sensor as the stock map sensor is only a 2 bar. I would suggest in finding another map sensor from a starlet.

As above - Ecu would be seeing lower voltage = less fuel so I am thinking less torque at low revs but running leaner at higher revs?
