what setting is the fcd on?

are you certain none of the wires are in the wrong place.

has any of them came loose?

make sure the 600rpm setting on the safc is at zero or above

FCD is set to 10.

I'm not an electrician but I followed Bens diagram as best I could, I'm 100% its set up according to it.

its a mess of wires but as far as i can see no wires have come loose.

I don't understand your last bit. How do I make sure the 600rpm setting is set above 0?

the safc allows you to tune the fuelling at set rpms, normally starts at about 600rpm, and has a setting ranging from -10 to +10 if it is at minus 10 you are underfuelling massively, and should be on at least 0.

the other option is that the second hand safc you bought is broken.

how do i check? I can't get my head around the controls.

I don't like your 2nd option!

Looking at the instructions I've got and the SAFC I think mine is the old style too. It has 4 directional buttons and 2 next and prev buttons. no one I can think of with any experience with em on camp. just tried putting it back to normal and I've got the same prob. Oh fuck!

yep, I've fucked it. got the engine running but the EM light is on. Took it for a drive and it gets to about 3k and pops and misfires alot (fuel cut maybe?) it also idles very badly and the revs drop to the point where it cuts out altogether.

I've completely removed everything SAFC related and reconnected everything as per Ben's diagram (obviously without the SAFC). Any suggestions anyone?

The blue wire on Ben's diagram going to pin2 connector2 is green in my car. thats what the garage wired the FCD to and it was working before I started playing. I've put it back to how it was originally but no joy. Anyone know how to reset the ECU? Will this help do you think?

Put the FCD on settin 7 or 8,

have you initialized the SAFC? if its from another car and you have done that and started fresh it would be looking for another type or sensor(other than MAP) hence the car not starting.

can't do anything now mate, its dark. Just phoned the Mrs and told her she'll have to walk back from work. I'd better get tea on the go! Spoke to ben and he says it sounds like the pim wire isn't connected (he's had similar symptoms). I'll try an ecu reset (when i find out how) then if not joy I'll have to check my connections, again. :(

Don't know how to initialize it. i found it on the safc menu, selected yes and it didn't do anything  How would the fcd setting make it cut out?
