Here is my 4th Gen Tercel, I've been working on this car since 2007. It has been through a sit load of changes and the end results are below. I'm pleased with the current setup and can honestly say its been a reliable setup for 2 years now and it gets 33 mpg cruising at 80 mph. This is my daily driver! hope you enjoy! Id also like to thank this site for being an excellent technical reference, i was able to get all the part #'s i needed from here and was able to source all my parts from England (tmdevelopments) Jamaica and Australia. The car is in Fl, USA.

200 to 204 kph is where the speed cut kicks in, time to get off my lazy ass and install the SLD.

Tunining out boost creep at high speed.

The 4e to 5e build

Changed the wheels in 07.

Upgraded the IC
4e2.jpg

This was the setup i ran until i got boost hunrgy and cracked pistons #2 and 3.
4e3.jpg

Then i bought these cute lil things from Race Engineering along with forged pistons.
4e4.jpg

4e4.4.jpg

This is the tear down to install the new pistons and rods. I have no hoist so i took the motor out in sections and put it back in sections (Head, Trans then Block)

4e6.jpg

4e7.jpg

4e8.jpg

4e9.jpg

4e10.jpg

The setup was a T28 with a manifold made from the stock 4efe manifold and a Turbonetics wastegate.
4e11.jpg

Clutch of choice at the time (i dont reccomend ACT for reliablity or at all) i went through 3 ACT's the one pictured below eventually messed up my input shaft bearings so i had to get a new trans. the second one was a sprung 4 puck and the springs flew out, the 3rd was a sprung 6 puck and the center part where the input shaft goes grenaded. i was only making 240 WHP at the time :screwy:

Great work there, really good setup. Is the Sentra throttle body much bigger then stock, was it a bolt on modification with the throttle position sensor.

Yes it is 10mm bigger, if i recall correct the 4e TB is 52 mm the SER is 62mm. It bolts directly on to the 4e intake manifold without any mods the diameter on the 4e intake manifold the the same size and the SER's throttle opening. It almost as if the nissan TB was designed for the 4e. the TPS requires minor mods as the mounting holes for the tps dont line up so you have to drill two holes on the 4e tps to be able to bolt it on. I've also figured out how to wire the nissan sentra's 3wire tps to work on our cars. It reads progressive on the AFC thats my next mod after i figure out some wiring issued with my car. see this post

its pretty solid, i had doubts it would have been able to hold up with the HP figures i'm running but it's been holding up. Cornering is predictable and tight but i think the sway bars are to thank for that. In a straight line launch it does a good job of putting the power down without too much wheel spin.

That's sound mate :) yeah I hope it will make a big difference as at 260 bhp my wheels spin like hell lol I got a 24 mm whiteline arb it's massive n works well so a LSD box will help till I can afford a cusco dif for my other box :)

The driveshaft shop actually makes a kit for these car. Its crazy expensive though, $1250.USD it is rated at 600HP and come with hubs. here is the link http://www.driveshaftshop.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=ep82

I had them make my custom axle because i am running the C56 factory LSD gearbox and trying to find the oem short axle was next to impossible! when i found the part # and went to the dealer the price was insane. Drive shaft shop charged me $300 to make the 1 short side axle, the other side is an over the counter rebuilt axle from the parts store. When i bought that axle i noticed how beefy it was compared to the OEM axle and how it looked very similar to the DSS axle . I then did my homework and found out that Drive Shaft Shop rebuilds axles for a popular parts company here in the US. That explains why both drive shafts looked so much a like.

Thanks all for the positive feedback! if anyone knows where i can get a good set of plug leads please let me know! im also trying to source a set of aftermarket valve springs and an Athena headgasket. I know TMdevelopment has them all but the British Pound to USD rate is killing me and making the parts way too expensive :(

Hey buddy,

Nice build. Its neat and clean. I have the Tercel also with a 4EFTE but the 1996 version. Im now in the process of forging it. I got NGK leads from speedvision and they are pretty solid. You can get gaskets from sam also at speedvision or at raceeng or at alamomotorsports.

Cheers..
