4efe or 4afe box + 4efte in a Corolla E11?

I don't know if your current compressor can be swapped across but would hope so - they are both 4E blocks after all. If you can take a picture of your current compressor I can show a 4EFTE version for comparison.

Looks similar.. connections are in the same spots anyhow.

Will update with pics tomorrow hopefully.

Also I think the cam cover bolts either need a tighten or a new set of seals. Little bit of oil weep in the pic you posted. The rubber bit of them goes brittle after the first decade.

Both the Yaris and Caldina have small rocker cover gasket weeps, strangely the GT is the only car that doesn't have a leak :)
25/30 pounds for the gasket set, 2 piece

Let me put together a list. Will take a bit of time just.

Would advise the full gasket kit but depends what you actually need. If you aren't opening the engine it'll seem a bit overkill, although in your position I'd prefer to be looking at it than looking for it.

I agree. I prefer to stay low but I went for the whole replacements. Just to know...
Check my list. Worked on it for a bit!

Aircon:

Over the years I've deleted quite a few aircon pumps and pipework on Starlets. Power-wise you won't really notice the lack of the driven compressor pulley but as far as weight goes you will notice the lack of all that extra metal. The compressor is quite heavy.

Please note I've never reinstalled this stuff but I did keep a few bits aside in case they turned out useful. Two of the three pumps here seem to be from Glanza V. The wiring differs slightly on the third one, that's all, the mounting points are in the same position. You should be able to compare these to the 4EFE pump, I'd hope they are not too different as it'll make things a lot easier to retain.

Pipework wise I'd imagine the E11 will have longer hoses to the condensor radiator and the evaporator.

Few things of note..

The radiator hoses from a 4EFTE probably aren't compatible. They are most likely too short.

The distance between your engine and the slam panel is greater than on an EP91.EP82 so whilst you will have a lot more room to play with it will make certain things difficult. Measure the gap between the TOYOTA on your rocker cover and the front slam panel and report back please. Means we can compare.

And on the topic of room to play with, I'd be fitting a front mounted intercooler for this application. The top mounted stock unit will not see air without modification to the bonnet. The money you would spend on making the bonnet look presentable would give you the upgraded intercooler along with the midrange power increase that goes with it.

Also you can remove the cover from your list so saving there too.

I agree. The plan to keep the top mount intercooler is because my mechanic told me he would create a cover for me within the budget because he thinks it’s nice and obviously it will save me at least €450. I’m concerned about the mid range gain with the front intercooler. I will discuss that with him and see what he thinks. My limitation on the budget because of the pandemic is creating stress because I do not want to lose the opportunity to buy the engine. Plan is to spend minimum for maintainance/refreshment to install it in the car. I will upgrade the intercooler and ECU when I will have extra budget.

Looking at your pictures I see the same geometry between the screw holes. The draw shows a 4efe Corolla E11 pump

Would agree on the compressor, hopefully the same unit.

Sorry to stress on the front mount intercooler but it does make a lot more sense to keep the intake temps down and protect the engine. The standard top mount suffers from heat soak as it is and would certainly reduce the boost you could run safely.

As your engine bay is longer than the Starlet, fitment would not be identical to the 4EFTE specific kits so you would be going custom anyway. This would let you build your own set up.

Even a smaller cooler like this hanging out front will give gains over the stock unit : Universal Turbocharger intercooler Core design Tube & Fin 550x175x57mm 6941689836785 | eBay

The usual kit to replicate is the Blitz kit which uses a larger core so this is an option too : 2.5" 63mm BLACK UNIVERSAL ALLOY CUSTOM TURBO RACE FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER FMIC | eBay

Obviously there's the pipework required to hook it up but that's the fun bit.

Here's thread to get a taste: FMIC comparisons - King thread | Toyota GT Turbo

In addition, I've seen quick a few 'custom' bonnet vents in the past used to accommodate the top mount. A vast majority have actually devalued the exterior. You would much prefer the clean look of your bonnet as it is. Plus it would stay a sleeper.

I have to say I agree with you. I’ll check out the links. Another thing is required which is adapting the water pipes. The available kits are all for the Starlet. I need adaptable pipes. Do you have any idea how I can do this? Thanks

As your engine bay is longer
The first intercooler is fairly cheap. I need to understand which kit of pipes I should buy. Please help me with that. I will be happy to provide measures between my radiator area and engine block if this is what helps to choose the kit.

Essentially you are connecting one end to the turbo and the other to the throttle body. Things pretty much it. There's generic pipework on ebay that might get you going but talking to someone who has piped one would be a better option first.

Unfortunately I have no reference point at this end so cannot advise the exact pipes you will need. This is one of the parts of your build that will be custom. My advice is to buy the core and mount it in place then your mechanic will piece it together from there. Each pipe will need measured and the angles confirmed.

I can see you needing the CT9 pipe from a 4EFTE kit but the rest will need to be longer as the nose of the car is further forward.

Theres the measurement of an ep82 nose.

Slam panel (where the bonnet latch sits) is that far from the engine.

A FMIC sits in the space behind the bumper. Would like to think you have a lot more room to work with on the Corolla.

This blitz one on my ep82 sits in front of the coolant radiator.
