4efe+T

Hey guys so Im prepping myself to build a 4efe+t and Been unsure of what size fuel injectors to get. would 312cc injectors be enough for a td04 setup running 8psi and occasionally bumping it up to 1 bar through a boost controller
also Is it a must to upgrade the fuel pump for this kind of a set up

( my knowledge is mostly related to the 4efte engines) so keep that in mind.

Now as a comparision, 4efte turbo engines (with a ct9) run 295cc injectors and can hit 9psi or so stock, and be modded to hit 13.7 psi with an electronic boost controller, such as a gfb geforce 2,
so i would assume that 312cc injectors would be perhaps the minimum someone would run to get a "minimum" safe tune down the line on a 4efe+t with a td04, more popular sizes for that are, 330cc to 460cc
( granted its best to have an ecu for this to get the most out of it )

However. i will point out unless you have said, Electronic boost controller, OR a standalone ecu, you will probably have issues with fuel cut

As for the pump, if you care for the car and do not want any Hp limitation down the line, or sudden failures, i would upgrade to a walbro 255/lph

( another thread related to injector size and what-not is here )

312 should be sufficient, given we've run TD04 @ 1bar of boost on stock 295's in the past. Your tuner/wideband should be able to tell if you need more fuel anyhow.

If you'd asked me 10 years ago if the standard pump was fine I would have said yes. These are old pumps now with varying degrees of fuel grade so for all the cost involved I'd advise a fresh pump of equal or greater spec. If she runs lean bad things can happen.

When you say "build" what extent are you going to ? Pistons and rods etc
nope just putting on a FPR and FCD stock ecu but since we brought it up can it still be tuned the way I’ll be running it or not

reason being
I just wanted to upgrade my conrods with some upgraded rods but then I figured I may aswell just forge the engine if I’m gonna be pulling out pistons but the Wait for a forged Kit and price was to long and pricey for a project I don’t plan on making extreme power out of

Yh I’ll probably be looking into a fuel pump
