4EFTE Piston Alternative

Hi there, I am reaching out from south africa. I cannot find a set of 4efte pistons, I was able to get a set of 4efe pistons for a reasonable price, but looking online the cheapest correct flat top piston would cost me the same as a another motor

So my question would be do you guys know of any alternatives that I could use perhaps from another vehicle or would machining the piston be my best bet( I am a bit scared to do this as the pistons looks to have a cast iron top, not entirely sure on the material tbh.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

first, let me put this out there ---- I'd strongly suggest you try to get oem or forged 4efte pistons

now after saying that, I've ran shaved/machined 4efte pistons in a "5efte" in the past. This was long ago when forged pistons were relatively expensive and not as widely available as today.
I've also known two other persons that ran shaved/machined 5efhe pistons in "5efte" engines.

However, once again, I would not advise it today.

Hi Corolla boy. Which part of SA are you from? I am also in SA and willing to guide/assist. I've been experimenting with these engines since 2017. I have broken built 4 and broken 3 so far. I have done extensive research and know all the tricks and tips. Pm me if your want any assistance/advice
