how do I check them? And I sounding like a noob now, where are they? Isn't the air temp in the Airbox and the O2 the one you see just after the turbo on the manifold?? Cause that (Air temp) was rid of a while ago

ugh, well, anyway, when the WD40 dries out i'll try firing up the car and see what's changed...if nothing, would someone in the area be kind enough to come up and help me with this? I'm getting so sick & tired of the car now...

Ok, an update:

So as I said, I wd40'd the spark plug tubes, wire brushed the spark plugs, wd40'd the spark plug wires, cleaned the fuel injectors....And still the same shit. I touched the screwdriver on the injectors, and it was hard to tell as the rough idle shook the engine loads, but I believe all of them were clicking, so none are stuck open...

So where to now? I'll check the fuel filter & pump tomorrow but what am I looking for? And after that what are my other possibilities? I want to change the oil (keep the filter) too for safe-keeping. I think it could be what was stated about the sensors, would make sense - or a cold start sensor that's not turning off? But regardless, it runs SOOO rich...it's driving me mad. Not a single moment's rest with this thing...really getting me annoyed....

the "temp" sensor (not air temp sensor) is on the thermostat housing area

the o2 sensor is just after the turbo in the downpipe

while u are at it have your TPS and air intake temp sensor checked also----BUT after i try the other two mentioned

i would start with the o2 sensor---then temp sensor---then tps----then air temp,,,,,,,since u dont have a working diagnostic box

when you "check" what am I supposed to do exactly? I mean obviously if they're oily I'll give them a clean, but how do I check for improper operation?

And I may...I believe have bad news...started it this morning, and I believe I may have heard main bearing rattle...

Edit: Ollie, only camera I have is my phone, but I'll get a video up

Check the electrodes. Are the white (too lean) black (too rich) or a pinky browny colour?

quick video to give an idea of the idle/richness...video does black out twice, but that's cause Windows Movie Maker is retarded:

had to jumpstart it the other day - someone had a look at this thread and said no-one had mentioned the Fuel Pressure Regulator, could be stuck open.

Anyway, how do I make sure of that? I have a SARD Fuel gauge (but annoyingly the seller ommitted to include the fitting kit for the regulator) to check - how do I install it? And now my car seems to be misfiring, revving shakes the engine violently
