the 5e in my car currently......came without a distributor and used coil packs much like some of 4efe's from 1999 jdm reflects
i initially purchased a "normal" 5e oil pump for it but it didn't fit so i had to carry the old one and have it matched........local toyota informed me of there being 3 or so different types

toyota done 3 types of pump in the american market,

1 was a special "california spec"

the other 2 were just on year change and early and a late one.

Interesting stuff

correct
especially for the guys running coil packs with standalone ecu's that wanna remove the dizzy altogether
if u know the crank angle, u know the cam angle and vice versa

well i can say there are 2 types of water pump for 4e/5e

now before, i knew of 2 types of oil pump for 4e/5e.....with fur's info, that takes the tally to 3

however, question fur,,,,,do u know if ""your" oil pump comes in 2 variations also?...which would then make it 4 oil pumps???

Thread revival here,

But can anyone answer whether there is such a thing as a OEM

Oil pump + crank sensor with a seal on the pump.

I'm building a 5E-FHE + t and looking to incorporate a crank sensor.

If there isn't, would running no O ring be an issue if both the block and pump didnt have a chanel for one?
