5EFHE con rods

I know its a long shot, but someone might have decided to fit some pauter rods to their 1.5 and have some 5efhe rods about

there's some "cheapish" 5e forged rods on eGay - 5efhe Rods are rare now that Andrew Cliffe (aka. Toyotasera.co.uk) has moved on from the Sera World

Yeah ollie mentioned there was some on here too.

Although ive just read Sam can ship me some for 225, but im just waiting to hear back whether they are defo 5EFHE rods and not 5EFE!

yeah i will have a set out of my 5efe, told they are exact same as the 5efhe only difference between 2 eninge's is the pistons, what price u looking at ?

No mate, im sorry to say but they are diff!

I havent taken the 5E apart that ive just bought yet, but i have seen pics, and the 5EFHE rod is a LOT stronger then the 5EFE rod! The 5EFE rod just wont take the abuse.

Damn i knew the 'H' rods were beefy, but im glad to see they are even tougher then the 4EFTE rods!!!

I remember seeing that pic od the 5EFE, 5EFHE, 4EFTE and and 4AGE rods, the 4AGE is a monster rod!

Golden, do you know if the 5E cams are same as 4EFTE? I know the 5EFHE are diff, but are all the rest the same cams?

5efe head is the exact same as the 4efe, but as you said the 5efhe head has the better cams.

Think i will strip the block down tomorrow. Got the head off today. Will drain oil and take block apart tomorrow and check things out. Gonna find out what size the con rod bolts are see if i can get some ARP bolts.

Need to work out what to do with the clutch too.... My original plan to have someone drill it out to take a 212mm clutch just wont work due to the flywheels design

gettin the cylnders honed on wednesday and waiting for the bearings to arrive, then i can put it together (Hopfully) will take some pics on wednesday

at least you got the engine now, where did you say it was wales? i will have to look into the driveshafts and my starlet dosnt have abs

Yeah sure was iain, into Wales i went! I might have to go for pauter rods at this rate, im not gonna spend 350 on new 5efhe rods + ARP studs when can get the pauter with arp for 475.... Just hope someone has some 5efhe rods for cheap!!!

Need to look out for a 6 speed gearbox too

id go for the pauter rod and you might just as well get some pistons non of this thicker hg rubbish you know exactly what i would do anyway :rockon: so your defo go for a 6 speed? i did look into it but i got messed about every time i found one so im guna stick with the 5 atm
