5efhe NOS capability,

Hi all,

Just want to ask if there are calculators or calculations available for amount of NOS we can use on a Stock 5efhe with Boost.

currently I am running 70 shot wet,

My Setup is..
5EFHE stock
5EFE intake manifold
SC 14
14 psi
5EFHE ecu
FMIC
EP70.
560CC Injectors
SAFC.
Distributor is fully retard.

Few questions :D
1. for 14 psi of boost how much do we have to retard the timming from distributor (5E ecu)?
2. timming for NOS.

Ill Post Pictures as well.

Thanks..

atleast stick some 4efte pistons in there if ur going to run a bar

run 4efte electronics in her and run 10 degrees of ignition

nos i dont know

and welcome to tggt man

have no issues with running 4EFTE electronic, its just low rev limit i want because of the load , which is available in 5EFE electronics,

I have plans to install 4EFTE wiring, some time soon.

How much Hp a 5efhe will handle on stock internals ?

thanks tercel,
thats very nice,
On stock ecu and cams?

will you mind sharing someones setup who achieved 300 hps?

I believe it was with stock 5efhe cams and using 4efte ecu with emanage piggyback and some kind of T3 turbo. About 10 years ago 5efhe engines were more readily available in north america and people were able to get huge power out of them. You have to be careful tuning them if you use stock pistons because as you probably know, they are very high compression and require high test fuel for running any kind of boost.

1 or 2 degrees ignition retard when on the nitrous, dont use it below 3000-3500rpm or under heavy labouring e.g 5th gear up a hill and switch it on.

Should be good for a 150 shot prefarably a progressive system to ease it on rather than the big thump of power it gives.

timing..

thankyou, both for your replies, :D

as I am currently using 5E ECU, we all know that this ecu Dose not see the Boost, (using one way valve on map sensor to avoid the ecu from reading boost), but what about the IGN timing, for 13 psi of boost from supercharger where should i set the distributor IGN timing too??

NOS''
I have read at some places that for every 50 shot of NOS 1 deg of IGN timing should be retard from distributor, it clear the equation for me.
I want some for the dizzy timing as well for Boost level.

I currently don't know the stock distributor timing of 5EFE, in honda, it was 16 deg at idel,

what is the advantage of 4efte electronic over 5efe ??

Run 4efte ecu a 5e ecu is useless on a turbo motor , no one can tell u how much timing etc it dose not work like that in the real world

Ok,

if one is using a 4efte ecu, 10 psi is what the ecu can see and fuel for,

what if one boosting till 20 psi, with stock 4efte ecu?
considering that Safc is the tuning option.. how do you manage timing for those extra 10 psi .

also, do u set the Distributor timing to stock(10deg) with 4efte ecu.

theres guys in jamaica runing aftermarket plug in ecus whit a afr controller and there going beyond 20 psi think thats the best option for u ,dont tink theres a big market in pakistan for parts so u might have to do whit what u got and go from there stock ecu and emanage bleu etc

the stock ecu sees 12 or 13 psi before feul cut

and about last question yes set to 10 then go from there

thanks a lot for the pics.
so how does it perform with the supercharger before the throttle body.
as opposed to a sucking through the throttle body?

i was thinking of doing mine like this:
