Hey guys, I'm after some advice on potential mods is can do to my gt to give it a few extra kW without having to do tuning/remap as i can't find a mechanic around that can do it.
My 94 gt is completely stock.
Would the following give me noticeable gains?
-Ported stock mani
-2.25 cat back exhaust
- pod filter
Is there any others I could do that wouldn't break the bank ??

So with the standard ECU, you'll have to keep an eye on the boost level, or it will hit fuel cut. This will be the limiting factor when doing engine mods.

I'd start with some simple maintenance so you know you have a healthy base to start from.

Spark plugs, fuel filter, check dizzy cap and rotor arm for wear, check compression.

If you are removing the exhaust manifold to port it, you could look into clocking the turbo, if you were thinking of running a front mount intercooler.

Decat, exhaust, air intake for turbo, front mount intercooler, ported cylinder head, port match inlet manifold and exhaust manifold.

Ideally you'd want a WEPR exhaust manifold with external wastegate to get as much out as possible.

Also, having the flywheel lightened, it won't add any power but will let the engine rev more freely.

Reducing weight from the car is as free and cheap as you can get really.

Mine was on the dyno at 148.8 hp :)
Mods at the time where 2.5 inch decat into a 2.5 inch straight through to a small scorpion back box, cone filter fitted on the factory airbox location and a boost controller running .8 bar just before fuel cut :)
A front mount intercooler gave a friend on the same day a 15hp gain on a standard car.
Ive now added a big front mount, short route intake and a 3 inch straight through Nur Spec system so I'm hoping for another 20hp when I finally get it back on the road, it will be the 1st place it goes before I start with the tf035 kit :)

And yea I second what Daniel said about making sure it's healthy too before you start upping the power. Mine had a very small misfire that was only picked up on the dyno, you can see the graph on my thread..

Weight loss :) currently losing as much weight as I can from mine, only the front seats will be in, no stereo, speaker etc :)

I've put new spark plugs checked dizzy and rotor arm, compression test was all between 160 to 162. I've ordered a mani and downpipe fro wepr. I've olso ordered a hks adjustable actuator so should probably get boost controller and gauge?
Any ideas where I can hid the boost gauge as I don't really want it in plain view?

You won't need a boost controller if your gonna use an adjustable actuator and be happy at .8 Bar :)
My guage is in the drivers side air vent, it will be getting moved because who looks at the air vent on boost lol

Yeah ill have a think about that one.
Have I been jipped!? I've bought this hks actuator and it states stock hi/lo switch can be used but I was reading a thread from around 2017 and the guys were saying with the hks actuator you can no the hi lo switch will no longer work.. ??
I want to keep this function at all cost I know to some ppl it may be of no use but this was one of the reasons I fell in love with the GT so many years ago.

The hi / lo botton will still work if you plumb the vacuum pipe on the new HKS actuator the same way as it is currently.

But on the original actuator it the 2x ports. The hks has only the 1 port. Whats with that?
