Make sure you have disconnected the two pipes that lead from the cabin through the bulkhead and into the engine bay. Otherwise you might damage the matrix pipes.

Thank guys will look into it 2mrw.
Its such a long job, too many plugs, hope it put them all back together, when i put everything back!!!

Done everything today, a few bit left to put back.
Thing is found out it wasnt the fookin matrix leaking, matrix looks good, must be something though those walls.
anyway took it for a good clean, so much shit was inside the matrix.
Wasnt hard to do, but takes a lot of time.
Thanks for the BIG LAD and Jay for all the info.
anyone need a spare matrix can give me a PM.

Mines still in peices. (so cold out side  )

Rep up to Jay on this one. I shat myself when i stripped the dash down for the loom changing in the sleeper, but building it back up was a doddle (even if there were a few spare bolts :) ):rockon::rockon:

Everything is back on now, my hand is cut up big time, can feel the pain when shower.
Wiring is a bitch, i couldnt turn over the car, after everything was put back together, than i had to look though the looms again, after about an hour, it was the starter wire came lose. after all that, happy days.
Thanks for the help again.:)

Where did you attach your wiring loom too? by default its attached to dash clips. I jsut laid it ouot on the strut bar and cable tied it. :p

I took out the Strut bar, as its only a few nuts, and easier to bring the box out.
i didn't take the loom off the dash, i had it out from the passenger side and placed it side ways on the driver side, cos i only need the space on the pass side to take the box out. Thought it would be alot more work if the whole loom was taken out and more chance of me forgetting where things go.
Should of taken some pics.
You guide its looking good. Hope ppl find it useful.

I couldnt realy take my strut bar out,as the plonkers who fitted my alarm, fitted the box on it, would hav ebeen more head ace to disconnect that. :(.
They better find it useful, spent most of my taking pictures:p Hardest bit was gettin the dam thing to clip back in. Dont have to worry about that from now on:rockon:

Yeah.

I usually end up tackling any local matrix repairs. Basically remove dashboard, disassemble heater system, remove heater box, replace matrix and rebuild.

EP91 is handier than EP82 thanks to the design of the matrix connections.

As a quick fix you bypass the matrix to remove it from the heater system. Find the inlet and outlet pipes that carry coolant from the engine bay to the heater matrix. This is them at the back of your engine bay:

And loop them together securely. It'll mean no hot coolant will circulate through the heating system in the cabin but the engine will function normally and be safe to use. This will keep you mobile.

Thats fine for me to do for now as my car is actually filling with steam and acting like a sauna. but what do it do? feed them into each other so the are on inside the other???

Loop them inside the engine bay buddy. I think the one on the driverside is long enough to allow you to remove the other one completely but I'm only going on faded memory.

When you say looped up what do you mean mate? do they have to be plugged up so no water gets out or just held up not pointing down? sorry for the questions mate. I'm just not sure if the engine pumps water into the pipes whether connected to the matrix or if they are empty until you turn the heaters on if you get me???

There is always water in the matrix.
As Jay said, as long as you loop the motor side so you bypass the matrix, you will be fine.
If there is water in the matix it wont go anywhere unless you have a leak

Apologies for the confusion, you need to join both pipes together otherwise your cooling system will empty rather quickly.

Either use an appropriately sized piece of copper tube to join them or I think you can remove the pipe on the right altogether and stretch the longer pipe on the left to connect to both engine side connections.

It should be noted that whatever you do the cooling system should be secure. If a leak develops it has the potential to damage your engine.
