Apologies for the confusion, you need to join both pipes together otherwise your cooling system will empty rather quickly.

Either use an appropriately sized piece of copper tube to join them or I think you can remove the pipe on the right altogether and stretch the longer pipe on the left to connect to both engine side connections.

It should be noted that whatever you do the cooling system should be secure. If a leak develops it has the potential to damage your engine.

thank you for that mate ill crack on with it in the morning :)

There's a ton of 10mm bolts holding the blower housing (white box) and condensor housing (black box) to the bulkhead. All of these need to be removed to allow both to move. Then you can wrestle them about a bit before finally ripping them clear and throwing them across the yard..

Do you suspect the core is leaking mate?

If so it's easily checked - get a bucket of water and submerge the core. If you see bubbles then that'll prove pretty definitive.

If it's an EP91 matrix it's also worth renewing the two seals that are on the inlet/outlet pipes. For the sake of a few quid for new ones they are worth replacing.

Just wondering if anyone has a reasonable guide of how to remove dash as my heater core emptied and I need to embark on the journey to replace. Here's hoping! Cheers guys. New to the forum, great little car

Pictures in my thread plus a few others :) hardest part is uncliping the loom where its connected to it, removal is pretty straightforward, dose of 10mm bolts hold it in
