Anyone got a Go Pro Hero or Hero 2 camera? I've just bought the Hero 2 motorsport for filming track days & go karting and just wondered what settings / resolutions you have yours set to, and if you have an external microphone, which one you've gone for!?

Post up your clips too if you've got any on youtube!

Have got the Hero 2.
I have it on the spot setting for filming from inside a car, and whatever resolution it comes as default.
I dont use an external mic from inside the car, just use the skeleton case.
No vids on Youtube though, sorry!

Picture quality is amazing and so is the sound, I had it attached to my cousins Radical Prosport and kept it on the same settings, Only difference was i put the Full case on for sound.

I have a HD Hero, brilliant camera. No need for the extra mic, the sound is good inside and out with the open case if the camera is facing forward. I use the spot metering inside and out and its good, I have set it up to record when you press the button on the front for handiness when in the car. If you are going to use the full 1080 get a good (class 10) memory card, and you will fill a 16GB card well before the battery runs out. The sticker mounts are great, they hold on really well, but I mounted it to a fog light with the sucker once on Spuddys car for a drag run, stayed on to 125 mhp so it gets a good grip as well! Only flaw it has is you really need a laptop with you to see if you have got the footage you wanted as there is no playback screen.

Cheers for the replies guys. I'm still fiddling with mine trying to find the best angles to record and such. Finding the sound isn't great, was hoping to pick up the exhaust note but it tends to pick up all the rattles inside the car. I've just done a test record and the battery ran out before a 2 hour HD record was finished, but i did have the screen on permanently. It's well worth having! Have also bought the battery expansion pack too, and I am using a class 10 32GB card.

Fitting to the fog light / headlight sounds like a good position for the camera, although I am worried it will fly off! Cant view your videos until I get home as Youtube is blocked.

I use windows live movie maker Rory, it was on my computer when I got it and it allows you to cut it easily and loads direct to poo tube in HD. You can do more with it but I couldnt be arsed, my wee lad makes videos of his from the skate park and adds music, slows down parts, adds text so it does quite a bit.

Thats odd i tried that and it wouldnt let me import them? Wouldnt be anything to do with it being the Gopro2?
Hmm will have to try again..

I've had one for a while, but the only real action it's had is stuck to a Mustang driving a few hundred miles over Florida Keys and the Everglades! Well worth it, saves messing around with bullet cameras and the result is often superior.

Its an MP4 file so it should work with that program. Only thing I can think of is if its set to NTSC rather than PAL, but that really only changes the frame rate.
