Not many more pics to take as it's just the 2 bearings now. It currently has nachi bearings. I will just get them matched up with our bearing supplier at work once they are out. Will provide details when I get to that point.

Thanks for your help

right. got the bearings from a bearing supplier. one was a koyo and the other an nsk. i will put the part numbers up in a bit. they are the same bearings as the ones on the avensis. the best price i could find is on ebay.

its all back together, just going to give the sealant a day to dry before i refil the box and try it. hopefully it will solve the issue, but tbh the bearings that came out werent too bad.

EBay item number: 171023133801. (You will want the thicker bearing pair)

Part numbers: KOYO- DG2568HNSH2C3
NSK- 25TM21NXC3 **UR

You will be paying around £60 for both bearings.

on the gearbag theme, i see you can buy an upgraded 3/4th for the c series box from JUBU

alot of the lotus guys doing big power/track work fit them in their toyota gearbags.

apparently fits C5*/C6* boxes.

anyone got 900quid spare to try it out?

lol

Filled with oil and test run and all seems ok so far. Need to get the car out in the open road to test it properly so will report back as to whether it is cured or not.

Bit delayed, but I can confirm that the gearbox noise I had is now gone. All I can hear now is a bit of a whine from the diff.

Did you use the normal puller for the syncro and gear? How did you get the bearings off?
Did you use press to get the gear and syncro back? I have to do this too, so all the info is much appreciated.:teach::noidea:

the synchro came off pretty easy. just a normal puller. the gears i used a normal puller and a heat gun and they eventually came off.

the bearings were a bit harder, i used an internal race bearing puller. it was a bit of a bastard but got there in the end. they dont need a lot to get them off, but it hard to get a puller to grip on them properly.

refitting was easier, i just heated the bearings up using an induction heater and then boshed them on. same with the gears.

give me a shout if you have any problems and i will help if i can

Just some random info, when pulling the gear off it sometimes does chip if it is needed to pull really hard on it.
It is ok if it chips, don't stress :)

my advice would be not to reuse chipped cogs the balance will be off causing premature bearing failure thats just my 2c :)
