best wheel/tyre profile for ep82

as much as i wouldn think there is much difference between the ep82 and glanza.

What size wheel and profile tyres are the best for handling/grip?

Im not asking brands im asking dimensions.

Reason i ask is that if you go too big a wheel then the handling factor is lost no??

cheers

Would not go for anything other than 15 inch for sure and yea your not far off with the bigger wheel thing.bigger the wheel obviously more rotating mass = more to move, more to change direction, more to stop.15 s are just big enough also for oversized calipers etc.wouldnt ever go bigger on a starlet.

Tried bigger size alloys and low profile tyres in the past and never again

Best ride is on 195/50/15 :drive:

cool so 15's are the way forward with the 195/50 tyres.

has any one got any input ie width... 6, 7.. 8's?

my girlfriends always said wider the better but i dont want to protrude the arch?

if my maths and homework are correct:

the standard wheel size of 14x5's leaves an offset of ET38,
does this mean using a wheel width of 6's will leave an offset of ET13,
or even a wheel width of 6.5's will leave an offset of ET0

if this is the case im assuming 15x6.5 is the best suited rim for the but how will the 195/50 tyres fit? will they touch the arch?

You need 195/50R15 up front, you can try 195/45R15 if you want to, not much of a difference, slightly better handling, less comfort and worse for heavy rain weather.

The rear you COULD try to use wider tyres, probably 205/50R15 if you can find such wheels -) It's all depends what you want really. If you want your car to handle better than wider rear tyres will improve your handling in dry weather conditions, however during the bad weather - rain/snow - your traction will be just terrible. And if you want a car for the drag then you need smaller tyres on the rear -)

The golden middle is 195/50R15 all round!
