Car scene 2023

How is it where you are?
In Ireland there has been a distinct lack of modded jap cars on the road over the past few years but in the past 18 months I have noticed a significant number of them again. Nice evo's, scoobies, levin, r32 skyline, chaser and more spotted in the past week.

Still nothing like it was back in the day but certainly seems to be more around these days. How is it where you are?

Dont meet much on the road about here, very rarely.

Lots still hiding away in sheds about though, if theres anything organised like a cars and coffee usually gets them out.

I think when ya do meet something out and about these days its usually of good quality though

here is ALL of my perspective over the years.
from my limited knowledge, starting from 2017, with my first car, the meets were the usual 50/50 blend of cool and not cool cars, it was alright, and i had plenty of fun in those times.

Now though? not great. we have those types of cars, r34's evo's etc however, the Vast majority of car meets are essentially full of everyday cars, and nothing standout. most do not see fit to go the extra mile fixing up their vehicles. people Do cringe things all day long to garner attention, (burnouts leaving, revving like idiots etc )

it seems many meets split into categories, some with more "Cred" than others, this of course split up which cars went where.

along time ago we had meets here that usually entailed cruises, loved the idea of these,
But they devolve real quick into semi private Mountain racing events, to which i built my starlet Uniquely for
These i called the "Golden Age" of car stuff locally to me, cars were no dead or broken, and events were everywhere, drives, meets, cars and coffee, we had it all, and at the time the friends to go with it.

as usual Animosity between groups, people, and Cars, Jealousy, and bitterness Ruined All that.

i of course had a very hard time when my personal Car Died, i dropped out of life entirely, including meets and such.
this devolved into relationship failure and depression. Right around this time, Many friends had hardships with their vehicles, Ruining What Little Meet ups we all had, one such car is still on my front lawn, dead,

It's funny how I guess getting older has changed the kind of meet I want to go too. This weekend was Japfest at Silverstone and Scramble at Bicester heritage. Passed loads of Jap cars heading to Silverstone but had no interest in going there and seeing endless mx5 with wheels that don't fit.
Scramble was great all different cars great venue and atmosphere.

MX5s are the scourge of the car scene these days, normally driven by someone that your not sure has a fanny or not with skinny jeans, baseball cap and dildo shaped vape pens, worse than Hondawankers lol
