Morning all,

When my car comes i want to keep it in pristine condition.

What products would be the best to buy to keep it shining

All comments welcome, the car is black if it helps, makes a difference...

Cheers

I use meguiars body shampoo 1st (as i think it foams much better than autoglym)

then autoglym super resin polish its the bollocks

and ive just brought some meguiars wax im going to try it out today so cant comment on that yet but i looks good

thats my experience and i can tell you it really does the job very well halfords have got 241 on autoglym at the moment

I also brought a autoglym calaformia blade for cleaning off water after washing, i would highly reccoment 1 of these as they makes it ten times quicker and the water doesnt get time to dry like it can with a chamois.

1 final tip,j instead of buying glass polish just use normal super resin does exactly the same job and saves getting two polishes out. I personally stay away from the likes of fast glass cleaner as it can smear, polish is completele smear free.

*EDIT* Just read that yours is black auto glym do a specific polish for dark colours not sure of the exact name sure someone will know, a friend of mine uses it on his rst and it look mint!

hope this helps

turtle wax ICE polish.

that is the dogs bollocks!

the only polish i have enjoyed using, its water based so no dust or smearing of any kind. can also be used in direct sun light. the results are amazing too.

i did a clean for my younger bro. used autoglym shampoo then used meguires clay bar and detailing spray. then used the ICE polish here is the result. speaks for itself really!

I use halfords advanced car wash, and Autoglym Super Resin Polish, and it is amazing. Paintwork is super shiny, and unbelievably smooth to the touch. Its literally amazing stuff.

same thing mate. mix 2 capfulls of polish with 4 capfulls of shampoo and give the car a good scrub with a soft sponge, rinse off with a hose or a low pressure washer and then shamoise it down making sure there is no water left in the wingmirrors or window gaps especially the rear ones (run some tissue through them or blow the water out) then polish each panel at a time by hand or machine. the wheels stay gleaming for a while!

Then put some tyre shine on ya tyres!

I've not washed the car since detailing... I don't want to scratch it again lol :(

Aye, will be great when its finished!, i was thinking of using 120 grit sandpaper, would this work?? j/k

I use Autoglyms Car Shampoo then black t-cut (not too often tho) alternatively, ive mastered washing my car at the jet wash in less than 6 mins, this includes, rinse, foam brush, rinse, hot wax, rinse, not bad for £2:homer:

Foam brush one of the worst things you can do to your car :(

Better cleaning by hand...

I use...Turtle Wax to wash the car it's called Wash and Wax...and the polish I usually use are either: Mer (which is very very good)...else I use Rexin Auto Polish (it's good but I usually use it when I have some minor scratches to cover - since it's a daily ride)! :)

PS: re-scratches try out the Turtle Wash Scratch & Swirl - it's friggin' awesome!!
