Points to the ignition system. That's encouraging.

Igniter, coil, distributor and all their associated wiring. Because you have changed the wiring that would make me think you got a duff component in the loop but then again I could be wrong.

Also check that your TPS is setup and reading correctly. That could have a bearing on the code too from what I remember.

jay i stripped trevors loom the 26pin plug of it and soldered all the wires on mine,so my origanal one is pefect now:)
i'll check these things today!wee-john you mentioned over fuelling, that would explain the big backfire when i tried to start it yesterday:pthanks for the help:)

The TPS can also make it hard to start if not reading correctly, it overfuels a bit when the closed signal is not there.

Just check there is a circuit between the bottom 2 pins on the TPS first, thats whats important to get it started.

ive checked this..i have a closed loop on the two pins?

i changed the igniter/coil..

i loosend off the fuel rail just to make sure the injetors were doin there job, they must be because when i turned it over flames shot out!

any more ideas:confused:

Take the plugs out, leave them somewhere warm to dry out. Take the injector plugs off the injectors and turn the car over for 5 seconds 3 or 4 times. Put the plugs back in and put the plugs back on the injectors and try it again.

Did you remove the leads from the dizzy cap and are you getting a spark through all the leads?

When you turn it over, does it turn any faster than normal?

it was spluttering on the way back from the mappers that time and the injectors were leaking, are they in right?
And i think the fueling was changed when we put in the 460s, and he prob forgot to change it back

First guess is that the TPS (throttle position sensor) isn't reading properly. Failing that I'd agree that it does sound pretty fucked up.

there is a relay behind the glove box and up in the corner, this shook loose for me once due to solid suspension i guess. took ages figuring out what was wrong and why my car wouldnt run! might be worth a look (or feel) very hard to get to

Have you checked the map sensor and its vacuum line out?

Clutching at straws here really, check the timing out as well. It sounds like its overfuelling, have a check through the injectors to see if one or more is not stuck open as well.
