CCM Short shifter kit - review - how to

Sheldon

First of all i would like to thank Ted@CCM, great lad to deal with.. :) as for the shifter.. was well impressed with the outcome.. didn't think the shift length will be this short! very impressive.. and works perfectly, no grinding gears etc. feels a bit strange for the first few shifts as it really is much shorter but you will get used to it and you will enjoy it! 1st 2nd and 3rd gear had less traction then usual.. i think this was due the shorter shift and keeps the turbo a bit more on boost (especially with my laggy T3)

fitting was really simple and didn't take long to change it!

if your thinking of buying one.. do it! you will not be disappointed!

Here is a small "How to"

sorry for some of the pics being shit as while i was taking pics the batt of my camcorder died :(

you will receive this.. look how well packed it is !

now lets start working,

you need to remove these plastic parts

to do so you need to unscrew these two screws, one on each side

DSC00093.jpg

and these two under the handbrake

DSC00091.jpg

Just pull it out

then you remove the other part by taking off the small plastic pins on each side. and take off your gearknob

carefully pull it out like this

On the left what you will not use when your going to fit the CCM one and on the right what you will use, now your going to use a socket 14 for the bolts as you need to use the longer ones supplied.

now what i did was that i used some grease (there already was but i put some more :)

Quick question, do you not need to re-use the old rubber bushes from the old unit??

The bushes where the x4 bolts go through?!

I fitted them onto my new short shifter unit.... hmm im confused now!
