Clutch options

Hey, i am a complete newbie to the whole car world, i am having to replace my clutch as it is slipping badly, i am trying to decide between heavy duty and just your standard clutch, i hear that if you have a heavier duty clutch then it will put more strain on the gearbox etc. is this true? If you could give me some pointers on what would be the cheapest/best option for me.
Thanks :)

power? budget?

hoax: i hear that if you have a heavier duty clutch then it will put more strain on the gearbox etc.
heavy duty clutches just mean you can run more power through them. for some, they may change the driving characteristics of the car a little coz it will be more of an on-off clutch that is either go or stop.
how much power are you running and what's your budget..?

Not 100% on the exact power, i think anywhere from 170-180 bhp? could be a little less. my price range for the part is about 600 NZ dollars. thanks

stop-&-go

@ EP82_NZ: hope you also know that having a high(er) power clutch will mean the car is a tad harder to drive in stop-&-go traffic.. :/
i'm sure you can/will be able to live with that..
