constant head aches

Did he do any tests or scans?

Did you ever have any head injury before?
he just did a lot of reflex tests ect. didnt order any scans though, impression i get is because they cant pinpoint the cause they dont take it seriously, but it bloody feels serious. in the last month these white blotches have appeared on the back of my arms as if my circulation isnt right, but when i showed the specialist he just said they werent related to the sensations (which i really doubt) as i never have anything wrong with me. so surely the two are related:freddy:

There are many types of headaches and there are 1001 causes for headaches.
I think that in your case it is most probably migraine.
As the others have said, you need to get an eye check up,since frequent lack of use of spectacles leads to headache.
You might also need an anti-glare set of glasses that help a lot when you are on the net or in front of a CRT or even flat screen all the time.

If you dont eat well or drink enough water then this is also a cause for headache.
Dehydration is a strong word, but yeah lack of water in your body can lead to headache.

A constant throbbing pain at the temporal [ side of forehead] part or at the back of your head with photophobia [ increased sensitivity to light ] and phonophobia [ increased sensitivity to noise ] is most likely migraine.

Sometimes you might also notice that the headache is mostly on one side of your head, right or left. This is very typical of migraine.

At times the headache takes days to calm down and sometimes it resolves after some paracetamol and brufen.

A very persistent headache is cause for concern as there are other more serious causes,as in SOL,space occupying lesion in the brain and tumours.
The diagnosis is made after a CT or MRI scan.

Hope this helps.

wow thanks,
it is a throbbing and if you drew a line up from my left eye and left temple where they meet is where the pain is. i do have a habbit of leaning forward so that my face is only 10 or so inches away from the screen. i will start drinking more and sitting back from the screen but if this does not stop it i will go to docs on monday

I'll echo the dehydration bit, hydrate or die!

Is it quite a dull headache? Do you suffer from Hayfever? I get chronic sinusitis which causes headaches especially at this time of year if a hayfever sufferer. Antibiotics get rid of it but sinus/nasal irrigation can usually make you feel better and would be worth trying as its cheap and non-prescription.

Other symptoms of sinusitis include stuffy nose, post-nasal drip, dry cough, achy teeth/jaw and teeth clenching

Exactly that mate, just biting your teeth together really hard. I find myself doing it quite a lot so chew gum which helps. All caused by the sinusitis with me apprantly. Do you wake up feeling quite groggy in the morning?

Sinusitis is exactly as you described.
Apart from sphenoid sinusitis which is different in terms of symptoms, which is mostly headache that resolves with anti-histamines.

One of the things that ive found with Sinusitis over the years is there seems to be an almost never ending list of possible symptoms!
