Continuous idle issues!!!

1995 EP82 GT Turbo.

For the life of me can't get to fix my idle. Idle drops to 500 rpms and alternator belt starts squeaking. Happens when coming to a stop specially after a spirited drive. Tried setting idle both from the throttle body screw and the throttle cable underneath the throttle body.

Cleaned ICV, new plugs, new wires, new belts.

1 Sometimes adjusting idle at the underneath cable/screw moves the cable stop distance used by the TPS.
TPS re calibration can be necessary so is worth checking.

2 Also you mention spirited drive, heat soak to the throttle body temp. sensor can be related to lower revs. Idle is one of the hotter moments for your engine the question maybe why is the your idle very hot?

The ecu will retard timing if temp is too high and /or to protect from knock.
Retarded Timing is the classic for release of heat as retarding reduces the work done pushing the piston. This leaves more heat in the head etc. the remaining heat from a turbo engine is a lot and this heat has to go some where.
3 Regardless of the cause which can take time to fully establish. My suggestion is make sure your cooling system is in top shape
no cracked hoses etc and check there is no air in the system.

My second GT gave me a similar low idle issue (about 15 years ago!) then started having hot starting problems shortly after. Turned out the coolant temp sensor was goosed. Might be worth swapping a good sensor in if the above doesn't yield results.

Also have you checked fault codes?

Thanks for your input bud. Cooling is in top shape.

Thanks for your input jay. I'll trying switching the coolant temp sensor.
