Could this be a JAM ecu?

idle adjusting normal for this type of ecu. the ecu will in my opinion(dont want a long discussion here!) overfuel and retard timing until it 'adjusts'. the ones i used adjusted after a day or so. if youre running anything under a bar of boost tho , it will overfuel as most were mapped for about that level of tuning.

get it set up on a dyno for best results or at least a wideband check. you could be unlucky and have one that was meant for a k24 or something, in which case it will overfuell and not make good power.

just fitted this ecu about half hour ago, the car is now idleing very low, 400-500rpm.

Also the A/F reading on my a'pexi turbotimer dropped to 10.9 while driving.

Should i give it more time to adjust?

what was done with the FCD?

Thanks for replies

I set it to 12, i seen mentioned on the site that 12 allows the signal through without being adjusted. Is this right?

im not sure mate. never used an HKS one. what about fuel pressure? you got a regulator with more pressure on it?

could also be that its still "learning" itself. give it a bit of road.

Dont have an fpr. My fueling's controlled with an a'pexi afc neo.

Il drive it easy til tomorrow and see if it improves.

Can you switch it off or disable it at all? It won't help if it's giving the ECU false readings.

If i can disable the neo, would it then loose its settings or would they be saved?

Have driven the car a bit more, its still idleing low and is also popping and banging a bit more on over run.

the neo will fuck with the jam ecu, turn it off mate. and i would cut the boost signal wires going to the fcd just to be sure. for the sake of ten minutes work youre taking chances

and its not designed to run with an aftermarket regulator

remember to rejoin the wires after taking the fcd and neo out,

the is pointless having, as the fuel cut is already removed with that ecu.

you can run 1 bar boost no problem with this ecu without having to had fpr's and such like.

once the fcd and neo is removed get it to a dyno to get it checked that everything is hunky dory.

The car has started to idle normally again, 700-800rpm. Havent tried driving the car hard yet though so dont know what sort of difference the ecu has made. It has raised the rev limit to 8000rpm so its doing something!

Sounds like it's on the right path then, see what it is like on fuel after a decent drive but I would still get it on a dyno if you can.

surely if you know the rev limit has changed to 8000 then you must have given her a bit of a boot:p

that makes no sense, im sure galen has the sense not to boot it before getting it checked on a wideband.

Oh no, just clutch and rev!:p

Yeah Phil, I sent Chris a pm to see if he could check it over. Just waiting for him to let me know when I can bring the car up.

I'm in the same boat mate, just fitting a sard ecu and being gentle on it untill i reach 100. Im on 80 km's at the moment:)
