Cusco/TRD Vs Powerflex

I'm looking to see if anyone has run the Cusco/TRD suspension bushes and see how they compare to the likes of powerflex/super pro. I know the JDM ones are like 3 times the price, but putting that to one side I'm wondering how they perform? Are they like the TRD engine mount bushes where they are slightly stiffer than OEM, but don't give the harshness of the powerflex?

Going to be ordering a Cusco diff and Cusco ARB's through RHD soon, I've always considered Cusco as the handling masters, so money is no object here but performance is. I done a search and very little comes up regarding the JDM bushes, seeing if anyone has used a set that have been hiding in the corner somewhere

It will be the ones I can get from RHD buddy, as I believe a lot of the TRD components are now discontinued items.
Taken from RHD :
TRD Lateral control rod bushing
TRD Lower arm bush set 1
TRD lower arm bush set 2
TRD front stabilizer bushing

From the diagram it will be numbers :
10 , 6 , 7 , 11.

I would love the JDM ones, but want to know if anyone has tried them and how they compare to the likes of powerflex. If it's hard to tell the difference between the two, then I might as well save myself £400 and get what I can from over here.

that reminds me of myself in a way.

the complete opposite way mind you Lol

:haha: I wish money was no object, but I only want the best parts which are gonna work well so would rather spend good money for something thats going to do its job the way I want :)

6 is ep82 only
7 i'd only replace if it's gone, there is the anti-lift kit but I think they are a bit fragile and you need to keep checking them
10 have them sitting here but not fitted
11 is a waste as it's only supporting the arb and wouldn't make much difference.

I'd go for the full Cusco kit , roll cage, diff, the lot.... but in saying that, you won't have much change out of 4k.

I'm already going for the diff, got the carbon strut braces already. I'm looking to order the diff, anti roll bars, and bushes from RHD. The diff + bushes + ARB's is around the £1600 mark delivered.
Not sure I want a roll cage as it's going to be used on the road as well, something I'm toying with although I would go the whole way with the cage and it will be like a 9 point with door bars as well.

Think am just going to bite the bullet and get the cusco bushes, can't go wrong can ya :haha:

From experience the TRD lower arm front bushes (No.6 in the diagram above) do not fit very well, in hindsight I shouldn't have bought them and will be replacing them when I finally get around to pulling the front end apart again.

They were a very tight fit and as a result didn't go in square, getting the bolt threads started when reinstalling the arms was a mission in itself.

Ah I see, sounds likd a pain and if not paying attention could easily ruin the threads. Thanks for the info :)

Just had the same thought mate, only one way to find out I suppose lol. Although being pillowball I would have thought it would be easier to navigate the bolt in, allowing it to take a natural tilt, rather than forcing and squeezing the rubber into a place it doesn't want to be.
