Detonator V - Boosted 4EFE

I'll have to catch a hold of the Somster soon lol. Hopefully get something sorted!

Righto. Update time once again.

The ct9 died so the only thing I had lying about was a TD04 setup to suit a topmount... I don't really need to tell you what's where.

Currently running it on stock fuelling and stock timing @ .6 of a bar (8/9psi) and behaving rather well. Done around 20 miles on this setup, will give it a week to see how it performs then report back. Goes rather well considering. My co-pilot this morning was impressed!

Expecting an explosion soon!

Tell me about it - never thought she'd survive the fuelling run lol. Seems to be well up for it from what I've seen so far.

Plan is to put a week's worth of miles on it and see what happens.

I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up lol..

First daily commute of 60 miles done today. She still lives and is quite nippy about town, especially 2nd. Quite enjoying the experience if I'm honest. Pity it's in an EP91.

Ah but now you fit in well with the rest of the laddys in Ireland who fly round town centers in second gear :haha:

would this be possible on a u.k 4efe aswell?

Would the pistons/rods be as strong? Is the compression ratio lower?

Not even sure it's a reliable option with the JDM 4EFE yet - 200 miles isn't much of a test period. The UKDM stuff is softer so I'd use extra caution with regards boost levels and timing.

do not hate - appreciate

Sorry but she's no EP82 mate. I just can't warm to the V handling at all..

was out in the detonator today and impressed, so perky off boost, no all or nothing delivery , as a tuning option, if done properly this is really good :)

long term reliability will show whether this is a viable option for boosting. seems ok now, but if it only lasts 6 months then its alot of work for 6months of fun!!! only time will tell and we may all be impressed!

if it can be kept on the rich side with no detonation theres no reason why it wouldnt be reliable. just less boost is possible i suppose.
