DIY adjustable panhard rod £11.20

Not sure if its the right section, i didnt fancy forking out for an aftermarket panhard rod so i made one cheaply. Does the same job and only downside is maybe that its a bit heavier than an aftermarket one. A few pictures below here might motivate some of the rest of you who are also students to do the same.

Got some 8.8 grade 18x2.5 threaded bar and two nuts, one a nylock, £11.20 inc vat!
Cut about 70mm out of the rod. left enough at one end so when the threaded bar slides in its tight and will be straight when welded. also drilled two holes(one either side) pictured, for extra weld strength.

when i cut the 70mm bit out i did it 'fairly' straight while in the vice, but so the nut is welded perfectly on the other end i left the nut on the threaded bar and slid it into the panhard rod and tacked it in place.

When the welding was finished i gave it a quick sandblasting and a lick of paint. Done.
