my old laptop gave up the ghost recently,,, i solely kept it for tuning purposes as it had only windows xp and greddy emu software installed.
i was tired of having to acquire and maintain an old spare laptop anyways,,,so i decided to try again at installing windows XP and emu software via VirtualBox on a Windows 10 laptop...i tried it a few years ago and I had no luck as i couldn't get the emu to connect to the laptop---driver issues. However, i was finally able to do it this time by research and following some Youtube videos...so hopefully this is of aid to other members/users with this set up.
1)
follow this video in its entirety to install VirtualBox and Windows XP on a Windows 10 laptop (the youtuber has all the relevant links and XP product key listed in the additional information under the clip)
2)
follow this video to set up a shared folder
its a short video, but if time is of the essence, then watch 0 to 3:18 and 4:31 to end...Please note, at 2:45 i had to enable
BOTH "auto mount "and "make permanent",,,as this kept the shared folder in XP whenever i rebooted the computer.
3)
use this site to download version 2.32 of the greddy emu software....i found version 2.33 was giving some issues
when you download it in Windows 10, put it in the shared folder in Windows 10,,, then run VirtualBox,,,, open Windows XP,,,, open the shared folder in Windows XP,,,,and install the version 2.32 software.

4)
use this video to allow the emanage software installed in VirtualBox to connect, via the USB cable, to the physical emanage unit in the car.
you can watch this video in its entirety as the youtuber went through all the steps above or just watch from 11:00 onwards to see how to install the USB drivers,,,please note, you need to have the laptop/software connected via the USB cable to the emu unit in the car with the emu unit actually powered up.
