ep70 custom NA engine build (many many pics inside, be warned!)

let's try it here.

a friend of mine has a ep70 boxy starlet and he had a badly worn out engine.
was using a lot of oil and running a bit to lean. had a stock 1.3 carb engine with 100 vacuum hoses. very prone to problems.

so... he thought: rip out the engine and fit something else! something better!

he bought a 5efe block but turned out that the seller screwed us with a bad block. crank was shot...

think... think.... toyota is like lego! so why nog throw something together from a big pile of parts?

and the idea was formed to build a new type of engine. combining parts from a 2E, 2E-E, 4EFE, 5EFE engine.

first up: stripping the car down:

fuelpump was busted so we started her on brake cleaner but she fired up straight away.
so now we need to finnish up the loom, exhaust and a lot of small fiddely bits but she's getting there!

we have a runner!:

Bored & Honed the 2E block to fit the 74mm 5EFE pistons, so it is now as a 4E 1334cc's because the 2E had 73mm pistons
